I am playing Assassins with some guys on my dorm (and our sister dorms) and I wanted to get your thoughts on a good weapon for that game. I have a couple Mavericks, 2 NFs and a Secret Strike already but I will be using one weapon for the game.

If your dorm is not that big i would suggest two mavs. but if it is relatively big then your best bet would be your secret strike and a nightfinder.

I'd consider the Secret Strike. Then, you can walk up to your target, look unthreatening, then pop him.
Always bring your sword to battle.

I pity the fool who attempts to use a single-shot blaster against me.

In my experience, NFs and Mavs suck for assassin. Either take 'em out from a long range with, say, a Big Blast, or spray with an RF20 or Magstrike.

You can't go wrong with a Rapid fire 20.
To see what I am talking about, check out my assassin videos on youtube.

I don't get my kicks out of you,
I don't feel the way I used to do.
I know its bad,
After what we had,
But I’m just not the angel you knew.

Keep a maverick in your bag for dorm defense and extra firepower, get an sspb or an eliminator for sneak attacks and as a last-ditch defense. Even if you only actually use the sspb or eliminator once or twice, it will have done its job. In my last assassin game, I was so well known for always carrying my sspb with me (and being good with it) that if an opponent who caught me without it approached me, all i'd have to do was reach into my back pocket, and they'd back off for fear of being shot.

Like the others say you can't go wrong with automatics, Get a rapid fire 20 or magstrike and keep your nightfinder with you just in case of backup.

A well modified SSPB will outdistance any mav. I would go with the eliminator though. Decent range in a tiny package, expecially if you minimize it like keef did, you could hide that in your sleeve.

Concealing your weapon is pointless. I'd say a mav is better than a NF in this situation, if you plan on going cheap. ROF is key.

We don't mod our guns, and range isn't everything. If you miss with an sspb, it's your ass, especially if they're packing something heavier.

In your situation, ROF is important because you are in a concentrated area. I participate in city-wide games, where accurate and high-ranged guns are essential for pegging guys entering or exiting their houses from across the street.

Ok the basic rules are that we cannot cash kills in class, at "campus church" or "convo" (thrice weekly chapel service) oh and we cant kill anybody on the hall so the big hey here is stealth. And the game starts Wednesday morning when he hit the floor

I'd personally go with a Big Blast, or a turreted Air Tech 2000. For assassins, I'd say its safe to plug the pump on either, just use your better judgment. However, you can never go wrong with a well modded Secret Strike Pocket Blaster.

Concealing weapons is dangerous and pointless. There have been one to many cases of HvZ games being cancelled/ended do to the fact that someone has the grip of a Maverick sticking out of their pocket. It takes only one scared student to go apeshit and contact authorities. Bigger blasters never seem to have this problem, as they are in the open and easily visable.

Just don't walk around in massive leather trench coats, and you should be fine. It would also help to know what blasters your roomies have.

I play in an abandoned office building, but I still take "overkill" guns (i.e. ARless, angel-breeched longshot, a singled Titan and 2 HPA Magstrikes is what I like to carry, I know it is a lot) because I have to still shoot up stairwells, across offices, stuff like that and my buddies use armor for no clear reason.

Well I talked to the coordinator on my hall and he talked to the girls from the sister dorms and from what I was told they have talked to everybody necessary and there wont be any problems. Also, the general blasters of choice are NF or Maverick. There is no taking anybody out in the areas I mentioned previously and Im sure that they will discuss how to do it properly within the confines of the game so we dont have people going bonkers and calling campus security (Im not one to swear)

In our game of assassin we conceal our blasters on campus, but university police is aware of us and we have wars in public where people often watch, so I think we're well known enough to avoid the police being called for a simple handle being shown. That said, what Gears said is true if your game is not well known and/or university police doesn't know about the game.

Split costs with a friend and share a dart tag blaster set. They get better range than mavericks and have 10 rounds. Tek 10's work too. Or a magstrike works good too, but you spend so much time pumping that it ends up having a low rate of fire. So if you can get your hands on a RF20, you're in luck. A nightfinder is a must. Minimization and concealing is pretty much pointless, with the ranges you'll have, you're not worried about keeping it hidden, you need to worry about actually hitting your target.

An RF20 will take a while to prime, and be annoying as hell to reload or try and fire accurately.

I'd go with a Dart Tag Blaster, a Tek10 or two Tek 6/Mavericks. It's all about RoF and easy use.

Maybe a DTB with two Tek6/Mav as backup.

Or you could always go stupidly overkill and hang a Longshot across your back.

I don't know whats wrong with your RF20, but mine takes about 30 seconds to prime, and if you have it on semi-auto its very accurate and you can pump as you shoot. Then you can quickly switch it to rapid-fire and take accuracy out of the question. Haha, and its not any harder to reload than any other gun, just more barrels. just means it takes longer to FULLY reload.

30 seconds vs 1 second for a DTB. I'll take the DTB.

As for reload, I'll take speed as well.
