So, Yea I baught some PETG from a speciaty fish store in Memphis. (Yes Tennessee and some of us do not speak like the beverly hill billies.) I thaught it was pretty cool, I just so happened to have a stefan in my pocket. I got a 3 foot section for $3.80. Pretty cool huh? NOT!!!! I didn't check on OMC'S PETG post to see the thickness of his PTEG. The inner diameter of my PETG is 0.58 in wide OMC's is 0.572. (my Measurements are exact) So I went and put all of this....um.... to put in polite terms, Horrible PTEG in my magstrike clip. (now it shoots 2 ft-SHIT!!!!) The Outer diameter is 5/8 would, OMC's PETG still fit in the drill holes?

It doesn't mean it's bad PETG. OMC's PETG doesn't work for my springers, so I doubt that slightly larger PETG would work well with a Maverick of all things. Put that PETG on a titan or some other air gun.

He said that his PETG is .58 inside diameter guys. Seriously. Just read. He says that OMC's is .572 outside diameter. Meaning that OMC petg will fit inside of his stuff. It should be fine. A wrap or two of stretched electrical tape will make it an even better fit. I would recommend, for a perfect seal, putting Plumbers goop on the last inch or so of the inside of each barrel at the back. Then slip in OMC petg, wipe off the excess and let it dry for 48 hours.
OMC petg will fall right through a 5/8" hole. Like I said, just put it inside your petg.

You know guys, this might not entirely be a bad lesson. I mean granted the fish store stuff might not fit stefans, but what about doing something similar to CXWQ's Telescoping Brass barrel with it?

Its already been done. Im not sure how many people have done it other than me, but I have a series of 1/2, inside of 9/16, inside of 5/8, and it works like a charm.

No, the lesson learned here is CHECK YOUR DART FIT before purchasing. There wouldn't have been a problem if you shot larger stefans.

There's a tropical fish store here in Glendora that sells petg tubing in two nerf-applicable sizes. The id of one is a wee bit smaller than megas, and the id of the other fits stock foam (a la CDTS's) perfectly. The smaller one actually fits perfectly inside the larger, so you can have a length of sealed, fitted barrel plus a low-drag larger extension for stabilizing it's initial flight.

This local PETG, though I haven't bought any in quite awhile, has a very glass-like, glossy texture, rather than the drier matte texture of most PETG bought through nerfers typically. It's VERY thick walled, and is just plain excellent in all applications I've used it in.

But it's NOTHING like OMC's PETG, Viper's old PETG, or Cxwq's PETG.

In short, bring some darts with you (several...stefan foam isn't perfect unless you're shooting stock foam, and even then it varies. I take 3-5 darts from various batches with me when I'm barrel shopping) and test out the tubing right then and there. Fish stores are EXCELLENT, local means for acquiring quality barrel material; your store simply doesn't cater to YOUR needs. Just try not to assume that fish stores are automatically bad for PETG; they just carry different sizes, brands, etc. If you want a constant, local supply of PETG, perhaps a dart size change is in order!

Don't take this as bashing...I just want to make it clear that Fish stores ARE viable, but they may not have what YOU'RE looking for.

On that note...I should go buy out my store's stock of PETG again. It's been awhile; they may not recognize me anymore, and I've got a Big Blast to be working on...

Deacu- My title is spelled correctly, how many ninjas do you see with paper swords? None.... Orogomi is a word I made up to have the same pronunciation as the popular paper folding hobby "Origami". It was also just made up to mean "Nerfer" (which I think sounds a little corny). It might sound a little weird but I like to make up words.
