My friend ordered an crossbow online from hasbro. I don't know if hes telling the truth but he claims he special ordered it from hasbro. It was new and the parts were all in separate bags. Did he really order this from hasbro or do you think he ordered it from idiot who lives in his moms basement.(By that i mean a someone from nerf hq.)

EDIT: Its NOT a bbb its an x-bow. I know the differences and all that. It had the blue arms on the sides, NOT the orange arms that go up and down. And it had one handle, a forgrip, and a stock.

EDIT: I was finally able to get the truth out of him. He got it from someone on nerf hq. The person that he got it from some how sealed it in those annoying bags.

Your friend is a liar, there is no way that you could ever get a crossbow from Hasbro. And as Busta Ninja said if there was a way we would all have them.

It is probably a bbb. I have had people tell me they have a crossbow only to discover it is a bna or bbb.

In the interest of fully exploring your friends assertions answer me this does his 'crossbow' look like The real crossbow is shown in the top two pictures, the big bad bow in the fourth. Tell us which one his looks like and you'll have your answer as to whether he actually has an x-bow.

Now as for where he got it, well that's a whole other issue.

Hasbro loses molds and patents after a while, that time was long ago. The crossbow is discontinued and Nerf sold its last crossbow a long time ago. You should knock some sense into your friend.
EDIT: Whoops... I messed up again sorry. But it is true that Hasbro sold its last crossbow a long time ago

Hasbro didn't lose anything. Haven't you ever wondered why we have never seen a knockoff Crossbow, but a konckoff of the NF. Maverick, TTG, and a watergun version of the LnL? The molds are never lost, they are copied by studying the blaster this have intentions of cloning.

As for patents, copyright laws also apply, but they have lost neither.

COPYRIGHT LAWS

"The term of copyright for a particular work depends on several factors, including whether it has been published, and, if so, the date of first publication. As a general rule, for works created after January 1, 1978, copyright protection lasts for the life of the author plus an additional 70 years. For an anonymous work, a pseudonymous work, or a work made for hire, the copyright endures for a term of 95 years from the year of its first publication or a term of 120 years from the year of its creation, whichever expires first."

PATENT LAWS

"Under recent changes in the laws, in the United States patents are now granted for a term of 20 years from the date of application (14 years for design patents). Different rules apply for patents covered by applications filed before June 8, 1995. Patents may be extended only by a special act of Congress (except for certain pharmaceutical patents)."

They have lost nothing. Anything you see of theirs that has been cloned and copied is a result of China's lax enforcement of Copyright and Patent laws. When CS was over there, he had seen Nerflike blasters in one of the towns he was in.

Now, to address skatah's friend, he is completely full of shit. And to skatah, when you posted this thread, did you not realize that you would get flamed by everyone? Without photographic proof, no one will believe it, even if there was a slight chance of it being true. He most likely got a BBB. There is no order list that has the Crossbow on it. If there was even a remote chance that they were producing them again, don't you think that OMC would have known about it and let us know. Finally, why would people still be buying them for so much money if you could just order one?

Enough said.

He's not lying, he's just another guy that knows nothing about nerf, and thinks a Big Bad Bow, which is purple, and has orange bow parts, is a Crossbow. This is a big bad bow:

It's not like that. I put lube on it and its the same. Its just stuck. And when I cock it back it goes farther back then usual. Also I push as hard as I can and it wont go back in. I've tried the methods and they wont work. Also pics are up.

When CS was over there, he had seen Nerflike blasters in one of the towns he was in.

I saw some vaguely similar stuff in Suzhou. And there are some Chinese Maverick knock-offs out there.

But children's toys is an almost completely non-existent market in China. They just don't spoil their children quite like Westerners do. No matter how hard I looked I couldn't find any toy stores in Beijing.
I'm sure there are tons in Hong Kong though, where supposedly you can find anything and everything whether legit or not.
Mainly because everything is exported from there. Guangzhou is nearby and is the primary manufacturing capitol of China. Hasbro's own factory is in the same area.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?
