What are the havens thoughts on spring replacements or internal banding on the ten shot DTG? I've lurked the mod threads for a bit and there doesn't seem to be too much consensus on whether the risk of plunger-rod breakage is worth it or not. On a specific note I will have a decent amount of ar15 springs available. Will they be too strong? ( i had purchased them for my Nite finder, got the 5 pack that cpt slug uses for plus bows, so a few extras to cut down)

With a plunger tube that short, and reversed, it would probably bust the barrel housing in short order if you banded it too much.

On a different note, since when does an AR-15 spring fit in a NF barrel? The AR-15 I have and use in my longshots fits OVER the barrel, not inside.

As hereticorp said banding will propabley not work. I have seen people put a Night Finder spring into a DTG though.

Nearly gave me a heart attack there...

The ID of the night finder plunger tube is 7/8".

The od of the springs i ordered are .844" so it will be tight but they will work.

How has the night finder spring been working in the DTG? No issues that you know of? Any major increase in performance?

I have a nitefinder spring in my DTG. It works fine. It is a little bit harder to cock, though, but that might just be because a screw in my slider bar wouldn't come out. So I cut the screw and used hot-glue to keep it together. But, I think you'll be fine.

I put a Nite-Finder spring in my DTG, and the range decreased by 10 feet. A Firely spring, on the other hand, added 10 feet.

Those AR-15 Springs should work fine in the DTG.

Just internal banding and maybe a firefly spring.

By the way, it doesn't have an reverse plunger. Just a normal one.

Do not internally band the Dtg. I did it to one of mine and after time, the rubber band rotted, snapped, and got stuck in the shits of the gun. I had to open it up and get it out before it worked again.

The chances of one person taking a bomb on a plane are one in a million. The chances of two people taking a bomb on a plane are one in a trillion. So if you're scared of a terrorist attack, bring a bomb on a plane.

I internally banded a couple of my DTB's and with other mods, it worked out pretty well. Liam is right, though; after a while the bands will break, but having to take apart your blaster isn't that big of a deal to me...it's something I do on a fairly regular basis.

I've never tried doing a spring replacement, so I don't know how that would work out. It has been a LONG time since I worked on a DTB because in my opinion, they are useless for outdoor wars and I don't really do any indoor wars.

I have done a spring replacement with ar 15 springs on my dtg. So far nothing has broke, though ive only fired it a couple dozen times. what can I expect in range if the spring is combined with a wrapped plunger head and cpvc barrels? About 45 feet?

About 45' seems resonable, so yah. Im in the buisness of doing a lot to my DTG right now, Im talking a whole new plunger system, some PETG barrels and another secret mod Il post up soon. I dont know what to expect but my guess is atleast 65' with a 1.5" plunger tube and extremely powerful springs.
