So I live in Canada and im currently looking to buy foam so I look at www.loghomestore.com and they tell me that shipping is free on a 800ft spool and im thinking whats the catch? So I was just wondering is this normal or are they going to charge me some sort of mysterious fee?

Well, my guess would be that shipping is free since you're already paying more than usual for such a large quantity.

Generally, people charge less when it's in masses. So they probably just give it to you for free, since no one really buys that amount, or it's just a gift, so you but more.

I strongly advise you get a sample first.
If it is anything like the white stuff it will only fit well in 19/32"

I don't get my kicks out of you,
I don't feel the way I used to do.
I know its bad,
After what we had,
But I’m just not the angel you knew.

This is why I think they've changed their foam:

Here's how they fit in assorted barrels:

From left to right:
1/2" PVC: extremely loose, of course
17/32" Brass: Tight, but certainly not impossible
1/2" SCH80 PVC: Perfect fit
9/16" Brass: Perfect Fit
1/2" CPVC: No way in hell without abusing your darts

19/32" Brass: Not pictured: Fairly Loose

Oh! I Almost forgot:

OMC's PETG:
Left - Thickwall: Perfect Fit
Right - Medium: A little loose

I bought this foam about a year ago. With all the recent negative feedback from members like FA24, I think they've changed their foam since then. When I get more cash I will buy some and compare them.

And really, it doesn't matter how good the stuff is. You should definitely get a sample before you buy that shitload of foam.

EDIT: I missed JustSomeBob's post. He brings up a very good point. I think I just got a really good batch.

I just ordered 300 feet of 1/2 inch diameter about a month ago. Mine is over-sized, I use 19/32 and 5/8 brass barrels for my guns.

I had already ordered a sample first, so I knew I was getting larger than average foam. If anything, its really easy to pick your darts out of a pile at a war.
