The closest thing I saw to this on the discovery website was the water stun gun.
Do you have a link?

Yeah it seems like they'd feature NERF guns if they had something like this. Maybe even free advertisement for NH. :)

If they do use Nerf guns, do you think they'll come up with mods we've never thought of?

I love Mythbusters! That show is teh 1337!!11! But the next episode is a myth where you can take a regualar Water Gun, and make it a stun gun. They take like, a taser, and shoot water right next to the electrical current, and the water conducts the electricity, and carries the stunning elecricity to the person being shot with water. I mean, I think this is plausible. People make FLAMETHROWERS out of water guns and window cleaner, so why can't this happen? And the phone book friction myth was awesome. I Can't believe two chevy cobalts could'nt pull them apart. Only TANKS could do it!
Anyway, this seems really cool. I can't wait.

It's not like that. I put lube on it and its the same. Its just stuck. And when I cock it back it goes farther back then usual. Also I push as hard as I can and it wont go back in. I've tried the methods and they wont work. Also pics are up.

Phone book friction? When did that episode air? I'm not familiar with it...

Anyway, cool! Sounds like a neat episode.

Yeah it seem to only be talking about squirt guns turned stun gun. It would be alsome if the eventualy end up doing a nerf modding episode.

I think it would be more along the lines of "Can you make a toy gun into a real one."

I still look forward to the episode, Mythbusters is one of my favorite shows on the air.

I love mythbusters! I have tivo so I can record and watch every episode. I have always wondered if they could make killer nerf guns! That would be awesome. They could have a nerf special!

Batman's voice was all snarly and shit. Not in the cool way. He sounded like a cross between a 13 year old in a garage metal band and the cookie monster.

Mythbusters is awesome! That would be great if they did do some Nerf gun mods. Unfortunately it sounds like it won't be Nerf guns from what everyone is saying. Although I think I will have to catch this episode anyway.

All they showed in the commercial last night were Super Soakers. They usually, in the commercial promos, show a little bit of everything involved in the myth they are working with, but no Nerf showed up.

I am a huge Mythbusters fan. However, as ecstatic as I was to see a topic like this pop up, I seriously doubt they will actually do a myth that involves modifying nerf guns.

Someone posted this topic a while back hoping to start a myth going for the sole purpose of showing up on the show. In order for there to be something relative to what we do here at the haven (ie, something usuable at a war) there would have to be a myth that involves a modified nerf gun and it would still have to be war legal. And for anyone that knows the show, that's unlikely.

I too love the show, and envy that they get paid for the stuff they do. Another possibility for a super soaker would be making it shoot pepper spray or something :o .

...and overnight, Super Soakers the nation over are banned.

I guess kids can't really get their hands on a tazer, but is teaching them how to make super soaker powered electricity guns a particularly good idea?

I'll tune in, of course.

I can already tell you that this myth will be busted. Electricity only works with a circuit. There is a circuit from the two poles of the stun gun, but there is no circuit between the arc in between and water shooting through to someone else. It would only work if you grounded one pole of the stun gun, put an electrode from the other pole in to the nozzle of the water gun, and shot something else that was grounded. Even then, you would need to use an electrolyte in the water, as pure (or even tap) water is an insulator.

We actually saw the 'phone-book friction' myth yesterday in my woodshop class*. Basically, they interleaved every single page of two 800 page phone books, and the friction alone kept them from being pulled apart with anything short of two tanks.

*: Because we only started school last Thursday, we're still going over safety and such. Since we didn't have anything related to the class to do, the teacher brought in a projector and we watched the show.
