This guide will take you through disassembling the SGSL, removing the air restrictors, plugging the pump, and creating a coupler system that will accept various types of ammo.
Your stock Signal launcher in box, looks very spyrific doesn't it?
Stock out of the box you have the gun itself, three detachable ammo holders, and three ammo missiles.
The Mirror Missile, featuring reflective coating and a whistler.
The Come Here Missile, featuring flashy red ribbons.
The Message Missile, featuring a rubber O-Ring that you can tuck a piece of paper under.
Whoo hoo. What great spy tools. They all make noise when you fire them.
Out of deference to whatever insanity created this thing, I'm going to hold on to the stock barrel and make a coupler that will let you fire these insane things.
Here you have the contents of the box, out of the box. I'm sure there's SOME use for those ammo holders, I just haven't figured it out quite yet.
Here's the front of the gun, you can see a stock air restrictor there already, but since we'll be yanking the barrel, it doesn't really matter.
And now you have the gun itself, unscrew the whole mess and we'll see whats inside.
Well well well, what have we here? It looks like a BuzzBee Big Blast chamber attached to a tiny little pump!
Well, first things first, lets take the pump apart and see what's up.
The ring on the front of the pump tube is glued on, just pry it off, it's not actually needed, I have no idea why it's even there. When you pull the pump rod out you'll notice one hole on top and two on the sides.
Plug all three of them (there's one on the opposite side too) with hot glue and call it a day.
As for the barrel, there are actually two air restrictors, although the second one isn't particularly effective. Cut the barrel off about 1" ahead of the gray tank and you'll see the gray X.
Dremel it out, and dremel the front of the red barrel out if you plan to use it to shoot the stock missiles.
Be careful on the gray one, there's another piece behind it that's a part of the air release mechanism, don't damage it or you'll have an Ex-Gun.
Couplers, the easiest thing in the world. Wrap some E-Tape around the stump of a barrel until you have to hammer the 1/2" PVC Slip Coupler on, then goop the heck out of it. Easy as pie.
Depending on how close you cut the barrel, you may have to dremel out the opening a little bit to accommodate the larger barrel.
When you replace the pump, just slide the cap back on, there's no need to glue it, you can see here how the tabs of plastic right behind the screw holes keep the pump nicely stuck in place.
To make the stock barrel into a coupled piece, just take a small piece of 1/2" PVC and dremel it out until the stock barrel fits inside. Goop it up, tape it up with some e-tape and you're good to go.
If you want to use CPVC instead of the stock barrel, standard 1/2" Thick CPVC fits nicely into the stock missiles.
Here's the gun all reassembled and ready to go. Be careful about pumping the gun too much, the trigger isn't that sturdy and could break under the pressure.
And the gun all nice and together. I'll be painting this, but that'll be a different post.
Ranges should be about the same as a singled BBBB, it's the exact same chamber, it'll just take more pumps to get it full.
Hope you enjoyed the guide.

Good write up. One thing I noticed, though, is that cpvc is a little small for my missiles. I found some PETG that fits nicely though. This size (labeled as 5/8", but slightly larger) also works well with the Buzz Bee missiles from the BBBB and the Mega Missile. I definitely prefer the missiles from the signal launcher though. Far more aerodynamic, and longer ranged. And there is the impending doom factor, as the missile closes in on one's opponent... Like giant sonic darts!
Now there's an aspect I hadn't thought of.
You could always wrap a little ETape around the CPVC to fit the rockets better. PETG isn't common in a lot of places.

I wish someone who had them all would line up the internals of this, the LBB, BBBB, and MM (Mega Missile) and any other comparable ones, to take some comparative photos.
I agree that the SGSL chamber and valve look very much like the BBBB, yet that air restrictor at the end of the tube just screams "LBB!"
Now I regret passing these up when they were on clearance at Target a few months ago.
Well, I'll open up the second BBBB I have sitting here and compare the internals, I'm pretty sure they're identical. I'll take pictures.
Sadly the LBB and the MM aren't available around here.
If someone can contribute pictures I can 'shop them together.

What kind of performance are you seeing out of that beast? I shot myself with it stock and it left a mark for an hour. What do you do with that? Hunt small game and children?

You plugged the fucking pump?!!!

I always plug the pumps. I can always drill out the hot glue later. Performance to the extreme, then tone it down for wars is what I say.
I'll get you ranges in a bit, and yes, I'm hunting teenagers who like to hang out in the parking lot and play loud music at midnight.
Nice write-up. You did almost the exact same thing as me. The only thing I didn't do was plug the pump.
I wanted to post internals pics for this gun, but I didn't feel right just posting pics, so I wrote the guide.

Okay, well if you see me there, don't call the cops. Seriously though, Varsity had one of these at apoc that he modded in like 16 seconds with a piece of petg just jammed on the barrel with no plug and it performed really, really well. Once I actually sit down to do mine I'll post it, but it's going to be very, very simple.
Talio.
No worries, I cause pain, I don't call the fuzz.
Seriously, this gun is the easiest thing ever to mod. A knife to de-plug the barrel, PETG over the barrel, and some stefans and/or missiles.
Good shit. Expensive, but good.
I'm gonna paint it, but haven't gotten to it yet.

This guy might be the second FA24/CS and or Direct Threat. Good Job.
Believe me, I'm not even in the same league as any of them.
I'm good at building things that other people design, and I'm good with basic painting. FA24, CS and DT are light years ahead of me.
Maybe in a few years I'll come close, but definitely not now.
