Has anyone ever played the game Munchkin or one of its variants? I've only played Star Munchkin but it was one of the best games I've ever played.

Too much luck involved. Fun if you want to turn your brain off for an hour.

Come on...it combines the best elements of Role Playing. Killing creatures, kicking in doors, treasure, looting bodies, and the best part, blackmailing and backstabbing your own party members.

And trust me, play with my group of friends and your brain won't DARE turn off.

Sounds like a fun game, is it like a free game for the PC?

Good ol' fashoined card game. You don't need a computer for everything.

Now though I like Munchkin, I prefer Killer Bunnies and the Quest for the Magic Carrot. The stories I could tell you about that game, and its creator, would make your head spin.

It's pretty good. I mostly end up playing Settlers of Cataan though.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

I'm still stuck on most computer games, I'm actually playing Last Stand right now. :(

Munchkin is fun, but I agree with oodalumps on the luck.

++Settlers of Catan.

Chrononauts is a great game as well; you try to achieve a secret goal by screwing with the timeline.

Munchkin is so much better then any MMO of multiplayer game because of the human interactions.

I always preferred a good ol' fashioned game of the zombies board game.

The real fun begins when you combine decks. Standard Munchkin and Star Munchkin is an amusing pair.

Settlers of Cataan and Carcasonne are two standards at my house. I tried Puerto Rico a few months ago, and was impressed. Initial setup and rules explanation takes...a while...but once you get past that, it's a quick moving game.

Munchkin is a blast, but my problem is that my friends play pretty competitively (to the point of ridiculousness.) One of my friends even bought a shirt to give himself extra bonuses. lame.

Speaking of board games: Has anyone tried out Heroscape? I bought it on a whim and it's definitely become a staple of gaming with my roommates. It's like legos combined with soldiers of every possible genre (future soldiers, romans, etc) It's neat.

I played Munchkin for the first time this past weekend, and it was a blast. Nothing quite like a halfling riding a giant mutated gerbil with press-on wings and a plastic nun dashboard ornament.

My favorite boardgame is Last Night on Earth. Woo for zombies!
