Hey guys! Im an ameture modder and i need some help.

I have recently aquiered materials for stefans and started making them and they shoot fine, but they don't go in the clip right. Its not that they flip its that the stefan below it and the one itself get jamed in the gun.

Do you guys have any solutions???

And yes the gun is the longshot.

Did you try to figure it out for yourself first? Before seeing you have a probelm and go "oh noes I has a problem I must use the internets"? Sorry but this happens too often.

Try to see how the darts are getting jammed, then see if there's a way for you to stop them jamming.
If not post some pics or some more detail.

I'm assuming you're using a Longshot in this instance, you didn't state this?

I assume you're talking about the LS clip. What kind of FBR is it, what is the fit, and what weight are you using?

EDIT: Okay, Tidge beat me.

Your post is all but unreadable. Fix your grammar, capitalization, spelling, and so forth. I assume that you're talking about either a longshot or a recon, but there's no way to know what the problem is without information regarding any modifications you've done. The clips for those guns are designed to work with 3" darts, and most stefans are considerably shorter than that. ~Rork

Now this is being a bit harsh. He misspelled all of three words, and maybe one or two grammatical errors. It's not that hard at all to read, but it is another thing entirely to understand what he is saying. Assuming you are using an ls or recon clip, the problem could be that your stefans aren't thick enough, causing two to be halfway pushed into the barrel and therefore causing a jam. Or, the fbr is not very dense, and the clip's spring is pushing on them with too much power, causing them to squeeze together and try to load at the same time, also causing a jam. Looking at your clip, make sure the second stefan loaded only comes level with the bottom of the curved sides. Hope this makes sense.

I'm not sure if three-inch darts would work in a ls/recon clip, because the last time I measured a 'streamline' dart, it was 2.75 inches. Just a thought...

And of course he's right, I just measured my clip and 3 inches is about the length of open space, meaning even if you had a 3" inch stefan, you'd have to make sure your hot glue dome didn't go over that much...

Bureaucrats. :D
I'm sure he meant 3" as a rough figure, but yeah... :P

By "unreadable," I meant that in addition to the grammatical issues, he failed to specify the type of gun, and we were left to induce that he was using LS clips. And as The Inventor Guy points out, I did not go over to a streamline, whip out my tape measure, and measure its precise length; however, the length differential between stock darts and stefans is a significant issue, especially when precise components such as breeches and spring-loaded clips are involved (I don't know of many people whose micros top 2", although I'm sure there are a couple). I hope this clears everything up. ~Rork

Okay, instead of flaming the poor guy and offering no help at all, how about we offer some help if he's still here?

Assuming you're talking about an LS or Recon clip, shorties (stefans 2" or less) will not work well because the friction of the bolt pushes and pulls them out of alignment. There's a few fixes for this, but they're difficult to find via the search function.

One I know involves square cross-section brass tubing and and gluing it to the inside of the clip to hold the stefans at the back of the clip. (CaptainSlug might have done that) The other I can think of is using longer stefans (which is what I do.) I've gotten good results by using ones that are 2 3/4" long. They have a tendency to fishtail a little in powerful guns, but they DO work.

I hope I was more helpful than the flamers that posted in the first place.

Yeah, that's the one I was thinking of. Sorry for mis-crediting it. I've done it to two of my clips so I can use stefans at Nerf Wars and I have two that are unmodded so I can still run streamlines in them indoors at home.

Well thanks for calling me a flamer, when all I did was try to help the guy.

And Rork, "unreadable" means you can't read it. That is not the case. You can read it just fine, but it is understanding the post that is difficult. Maybe I didn't stress this enough in my first post?

Come now, the flamers know who they are, and I didn't say anyone specific.

First things first: Nerfy the dawg, Do you type by repeatedly banging your head on your key board?
Second:Anon. Dude, Did you do the clip mod to accept stefans or leave any of the dart smithing steps out (straitening the foam)?
