Some of you will remember my BBBB+DTB Integration post, and remember that I left the thing a flat gloss black when I was finished because I had no ideas for it.

Well, I came up with an idea.



Since I was uninspired in the past, I went on a quest to figure out what to do with my poor gloss black Blaster.

I started with a coat of Krylon Fusion Forest Green.



The whole thing, including the barrels. There's a theme here, trust me.



I then took some stencils I cut out (can you see where this is going?) and laid them on appropriate locations of the gun.

The stencil paper was $2.50 for 3 sheets at Michael's Crafts.



The stencils were sprayed with Krylon Metallics Gold.



And now you have Link's Big Blaster.

I'll probably do some more gold accents for parts of the gun, we'll see.



I should clean up the feet on that dratted bird, but for now I think it looks sweet.

Hope you enjoyed, more pictures will follow once I've figured out WTF I'm going to do with the thing beyond the stencils.

Haha beautiful! Your paint job on looks very clean, the logos are a little fuzzy, but I'm sure its partially the photo and partially because it is just a stencil. Zelda rocks!

Just a thought for continuing the theme, you could get some leather brown colors and make the handle's look wrapped, or if painting that is too hard just wrap them in either fake leather or brown electrical tape

The logos are exactly in the pictures as they are in real life, I need to get a brush and paint with that if I really want the stencil figures to come out well. I'll be trying it later.

Ranges, 10 Pumps, 20 Shots per Dart Type, Flat Shot, Rounded down to the nearest foot:

Double BB 2" Stefans:
68, 68, 67, 65, 62, 62, 60, 60, 57, 56, 55, 54, 53, 53, 53, 52, 50, 50, 46, 44

Average: 56.75'

1/4" Steel Slingshot Ball 2" Stefans:

I hate the paint job simply because Zelda games need to die, all of them. They're a virus.

What?! Blasphemy, I say! The Zelda games are some of the best RPGs ever created, and in some sense even defined the genre.

Back on topic, I do agree with Daecu. Throw a little brown in there, and it will look truly a blaster fit for Link. Except, you know, the small problem that he probably doesn't have access to a foam-dart shooter. But I'm sure that if he did, this would be the one he'd use. Yeah. And a little blue in there never hurt either (remember his shield?)

On topic, that looks amazing. I love the look, and I can see all of Hyrules guards ready to kick some Moblin butt. Do you have plans for some other Zelda inspired paint-jobs? On paint jobs based on any other video game for that matter?

They're PETG, and no, they're not. If you read the original writeup on the BBBB+DTB integration it explains why they're a bit cockeyed..

Yeah, I have a pattern for his shield, but I'm waiting to pick up some Transparency film so that I can make stencils that won't overspray. I haven't decided what to do about the blue yet.

I'll have to pick up some brown for the handles, I'll be redoing the paint once I get all the correct materials in.

I've thought about it, and I accidentally made something that looked like a pistol from the GunGrave anime on my Prometheus project, but right now I don't have any specific plans.

I just made a longshot based on a favorite webcomic of mine, but that'll be up in a different post later.

I was thinking about a metroid blaster, but to be true to that particular series I'd need a ball blaster and I just hate those things. I guess I could make a BBBB into the Metroid Missile Launcher.
