Alright so I opened up the hornet today and plugged the pump for the thing to be ready for ompas brass barrels. I plugged the pump got the whole thing put back together and it really is shooting great, but it only shoots once. The slider thing on the top still works to prime the gun but it only primes 1 barrel. I dont really know why. The most curious thing about this is that the side push buttons to fire off all the barrels still work and fire off all the barrels.

The only thing I think could have gone wrong is that I messed up a simple gear or something that allowed the air system to cycle.

Anyone have any experience in this regard or how to fix the problem?

I, too "have recon," as they say. I get him in old country. Then I realize he sucks like bog. So I trade him for potato.

I'm fairly certain that's what your problem is. A year ago, I had to open my hornet three times before I figured that out.

That piece over the priming rod has a moody tortion spring. Here is the position it should be in:

You want the short end forcing the ratchet into the notches in the priming rod. The other end should be pointed back towards the stock and folded under the plastic so it's in the same track as the rest of the ratchet.

You see, while there's pressure in the gun, the priming rod will be pressed forward. That ratchet locks the priming rod down with every shot so the pressure doesn't hold it in the first position. However, because you primed all the barrels, they all fired when you hit the blast button.

(Sorry it took me a couple days, I had this in mind though!)

Also, this may not be the case with your blaster, but I figure I could bring it up now.

This is similar to the problem that eventually led me to creating the Marvelous Salvo. If you over-pressurize a BlastFire (and I think the same thing happens with a Hornet, but it's been a while) then the internals can't handle the force. The trigger mech isn't very sturdy and when you pull the trigger, the firing pin is pushed through a tube of compressed air and compressing the air further as it moves forward. This makes it hard to pull the trigger and the gear often slips on the trigger mech and will only allow you to fire the first shot. If you continue to fire off just the first shot, eventually the pressure will decrease to a point where you can comfortably squeeze off all the shots.

Try pumping a bit less and see if it makes a difference. It doesn't sound like this is your problem, but I figured I'd put this in here for other people trying to fix their Hornets.

We had the same problem with three different Green Hornets from the Hulk kit-returned it twice. The last one we got actually fires all barrels, but only one REALLY shoots. The rest kinda fall out. We bought a Red Hornet from the Hasbro website($5) and it works great. No mods though-that thing is scary inside. Good luck.

I don't know anything about the Hulk Hornet, but something tells me that it's not as reliable as the normal version simply because it's part of a novelty pack.

Hmm... It could be several things.
Hahaha, I hate to do the whole PC Customer Support thing, but I gotta check. Did you pull the slide out, put it back, pump then fire? That primes all the barrels.

It could be the same problem as mentioned above, which would be odd if you've never opened the gun. But like I said, novelty gun = poor quality control.

Does the blast work well?
