A couple months ago I noticed that when I shook, not vigorously, my at3k that there was something rattling around inside of it. Then the barrels started rotating on every pump, and the range decreased a ton. Any idea on what this could be?

I understand that you aren't here to babysit me. I really don't use this gun much, but I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't an incredibly urgent "OMG your gun is gonna break if you fire it one more time" type problem.

I wouldn't consider helping someone with a legitimate problem babysitting.

Sounds to me like you've broken your rotation mechanism. It won't be an easy fix.
I'm pretty busy right now, but I'll have a look inside my 3k when I get a chance.

I'm not very familiar with how it works, but I believe the 3k is activated by air pressure rather than a hook like I've seen in one version of the SM3k.

In the quite likely event that you are unable to fix it, you can single it or try and replace the turret with one that rotates manually.

I have one that I have already modded, and two that I need to mod still, so I'll open another this weekend.

It actually works nearly identically to the SM3ks, with the mechanical activation.

With the first AT3K I modded... I accidentally broke the advancing mechanism. So I just removed the tooth on the pump that would normally advance the turret. This keeps it rotating and latching in one direction, and able to rotate by hand.

Killzor, you are going to need to open it up and see what happened.

In reference to the SM3K comparison...actually it's the occasional SM3K that rotates by air pressure. I have not yet figured out a way to identify by outer appearance which type does this, but hopefully I'll eventually come up with something. Sometimes you open up a SM3K and it works like an AT3K and sometimes it has a pneumatic piston that rotates the turret.

If you want to know what is wrong with your 3k, you have to put forth the effort to find out what is wrong with it. So open it up and tell us or show us the problem by what is actually there.
