Indeed that is a wii blaster. It's a nerf gun that shoots darts, and then by opening the top of the gun up you take out the internals and put in a wii remote, using it in a gun game for the wii.

This may open up a new world of amusing guns following the posting of the SSPB inside the N64 controller. Although, www.wiivegotaproblem.com is really a testament to just how tough the Wii-mote really is, so I don't think you'll actually find a broken Wii-mote anywhere....

This gun definitely has decent modding potential, but the possible integrations are endless. Also, look at the wiimote for scale: plenty of space for lengthened plunger tubes, etc.

EDIT: Just noticed the sights on this thing, they look functional for once.

To end this once and for all, the MEGA-VULCAN WILL NOT EVER BE RELEASED FOR SALE. It was a promotional tool used at tradeshows and events. NOF, do not posts rumors or speculation as fact.

Well I mean if your playing in candyland it would blend in. I was meaning that nerf was now giving sidearms along with that. Primary/sidearm combo is not really something that they have done, save the LS.

I think that ebay auction is legit. The guy knew so much about it and even posted a video. Plus, we caught wind of that game months ago.

Thats not what I meant. We obviously knew about it, maybe I should have been more specific. I meant we would have known about them being for sale before this guy right? I mean we have people in almost every state in the US and even a few international members.

The game sounds alright, with single player, co-op, and competitive play. Who know how good the controls and gameplay will be, though.

Perhaps the most interesting line in the article is this:

It's due out on November 4, 2008, and will come packaged with the Nerf peripheral (the game and peripheral will be sold separately, as well).

So, there you go: you'll be able to buy the blaster without the game.

Personally, I'm asking Santa Claus for the the whole set.

Off Topic a little- I read what the comments were for the game, and I am appalled at the ignorance level. They have no idea what a Nerf gun and dart can do. Have them try staring down the Skull of Doomsayer and they'll see what they think is an 8 year old's game.
On topic- I probably would just buy the blaster for the integratibility.

Actually you are the ignorant one. Out of all the people who purchase nerf guns we are a small minority. They don't need to market to us and don't. The main audience for these guns is children about 5-12 and that is also the main market for the wii (also adults but thats beside the point) so this makes complete sense to Hasbro and nintendo.

Sorry, I was just venting.... But the thing that bugged me most is how people constantly compare airsoft to nerf. It's like comparing a Zebra to a carton of apple cider. It doesn't work. OK, I'm calm now..

I'm impressed, 12 hours is a hell of a lot longer than I would've expected it to be.

Oh, and as for this popping up on eBay even as we still have nowhere else to get it, it's not really that uncommon for this to happen. Most early pictures of Transformers toys come from similar eBay leaks, probably someone either works in R&D or raided a warehouse.

Off topic- I find is really funny that OMC said the MEGA-VULCAN was not coming out to the same person three god damn times, Nerfonfier get it through your fucking head. The Mega vulcan is never coming out.

On topic- i think the switch shot is pretty clever. If the spring gun turns out to suck people could always put a singled at2k into it, add a rail and you have a extra shot on to almost any gun.(As long as its part of the N-strike line)

I think there was a misunderstanding, actually. In at least one of the posts about the Mega-Vulcan, it sounded like the person asking about it was asking if it would be in the game, not available in real life. Of course, I could be wrong too, but that's what I got from it.
