I cut the goo gauge out of my AT3K. Then tried to reconnect everything together using the body of a pen. FAIL. Then tried to get fittings and connect everything together with them. FAIL. The hole where the tubing connects to the pump can't be threaded with a 1/8" fitting. The pump kinda got wrecked. However, being not the sort to give up, here's what I ended up with:

I can't quite do a full write-up at the moment, I will if there is a lot of demand for it though. It's basic anyway. The tubing for the air tank is cut off at the goo gauge. Then, I used a compression connector, 1/4" OD connector x 1/8" Male thread, to connect this to a secondary tank:

The tank is two 1" endcaps on a small piece of 1" Sch 40 PVC.

You have to drill a hole in one side for the 1/8" thread, and one in the other side for the tubeless tire valve. I also filled in some of the space inside the tank, because an AT3K doesn't need that much volume of air in my opinion.

Then, put your bike pump on, and that's it. I can fill the tank in about 2 pumps, but can pump it 3 times safely.

Since I know probably everyone wants to know, I don't know about ranges yet. However, I did manage to lodge a CS dart half way into a cardboard box from ten feet, so I think that ranges will be plenty good.

Questions, comments, confusion?

Oh, by the way, just thought I would throw this out there. Some are probably wondering what happened to the homemade Vulcan chain. At the moment, I just don't think its gonna work. I'll toy with it again at some point, but the damn thing is made to very tight tolerances, and duplicating them is tough with the tools and time I have.

I used to have that problem until I got circumcised. 15 pounds later I was able to stand up straight.

Just went outside and tested it. The muzzle velocity on this is incredible. I don't know if that is true across the board with air guns or not, because the AT is the only air gun I have (i hate working on them, and don't like using them). I don't have any official measured ranges but I know that my backyard is about 100ft deep, and I can shoot from fence to fence with it. I would say ranges are 100ft +/- 10ft.

Welcome to the land of airguns, enjoy your stay :D

Airguns kick ass when it comes to power and range, though they tend to be overkill for CQB.

I have that exact same pump (I noted the lines and color as being exactly the same, along with manufacturer.) It goes for about 10 dollars, and goes up to 60 psi. It has both schrader and presta valve fittings.

All I have to say, Analogkid is wow. Very nice work here, I think you've opened up a whole new realm of possibilities with such a simple and effective homemade airtank.

Now I'm gonna have to give you credit whenever I use one...
Bravo!
