I'm adding a light to my newly purchased Nite Finder (SpectreX's maglight mod with this green light since it's designed for a mini-mag) and I was wondering if I needed any of the original wires/contacts/etc. since the light stopped working after about 5 minutes of playing with it. I've checked the batteries and fiddled with it as much as my knowledge allows, but for the life of me, I can't get it to work.

Here's a couple of pictures of the internals:

It seems like your red wire came undone.

You could either manually turn it on, or you could wire it so it does use the current switch/ batteries. That would be cool, but it would be easier to put the light in and wire the switch to the exterior somehow

Solder the red wire from the switch to the positive terminal of the mini-mag, and solder the black wire directly to the ground terminal. If the mini-mag has an internal resistor, cut off the existing one inthe gun (the little brown cylinder w/ metal caps), and wire that tab to the positive battery terminal.
