Does anyone know what PSI the magstrike bladder is rated for? Because my bike pump can get over 60 psi and I am wondering what the bursting point is. I can't open up one at the moment because I do not have my friend's handy. So can someone throw me a bone?

Don't go above 70psi, or you're likely to burst the tubing inside the blaster.

The bladder doesn't really work the same way as a rigid chamber. It has an "operating pressure" that it stays at approximately (it will drop about 25% from this pressure over the duration of the shots). The flexible nature of the tubing essentially means that more air will simply cause the tubing to expand rather than compress the air much more. So if I put air pressurized to a higher pressure than the operating pressure of the chamber, the air will simply expand out. You have to be careful not to put too much air volume into the bladder.

The tubing Hasbro uses in their water guns has an operating pressure of about 23 PSI, but I don't know if that would differ from their Nerf guns.

You can adjust the operating pressure of the bladder by laying bike tubes over it, but that can be a pain to do.

If you remove the bladder you obviously don't have those limitations in pressure, so I would recommend chopping it out and replacing it with a regulated air pressure source. It'll be more consistent and easily more powerful.

Thanks Slug, the gun is doing fine and we have been running extensive tests so the bladder seems to be holding up at about 65psi so I figured it was rated for about 70-75psi. The check valve in my friend's magstrike broke so we took out the old pump and epoxied a bike inner tube stem valve into the tubing and took out the pump. So now we just hook it up to a bike pump, in about 3 pumps we're at 60psi and thats good for about 2 clips 3 if you're careful I'll post pics and write up in another thread.
