Ok, post 200. So, they sell refill packs for the Vulcan with more chain and 25 darts. But, what if you could make your own stefan ready chain that used barrels that were the perfect fit for your darts? Interesting? Yes it certainly is. Part One will detail how to make a single link. You can repeat the process as many times as you want, depending on how long you want the chain. Part Two will examine how to connect the links to make a functional chain. Here we go:

Materials:
-Dremel with grinding bit and cutoff wheel
-Miter Saw(optional, will make cutting neater and faster)
-1/2" PVC Schedule 40
-1/2" CPVC, PETG, or other preferred barrel, brass could be used too, but that's gonna get expensive.
-Super Glue or other adhesive

Steps:

1) Take and cut off 3" of your barrel material, like so:

2)Cut a piece of PVC 7/8" long, and, if it doesn't already, dremel out the inside so it fits easily but tightly over your barrel material.

3) Cut a piece of PVC 1 1/8" long. Then slide it over your barrel material. Then slide the 7/8" piece under that, make sure they are pressed together and the 7/8" piece is even with the bottom of the barrel, and glue ONLY the 1 1/8" piece into place. If you are using CPVC, it will need to be hammered until the bottoms are even, and then you have to place the 7/8" of PVC under that and hammer it until CPVC is even with that, like so.

4) Remove the 7/8" piece, and mark the side that it was removed from. That is the front of the barrel, which faces out. The other side of the shell is where the plunger makes contact with. If the barrel is too long and your darts don't fire, you can trim some material off of the front, BUT NOT THE BACK. CPVC didn't work for me with the Vulcan, so I used PETG instead, because my darts are a tight fit in CPVC anyway, and the Vulcan doesn't have that much air volume stock. End result:

Firing Video: Ranges are somewhat comparable from what I saw testing it in my room, I still need to tweak the barrel lengths and stuff some more.

Hooray for me starting a trend of doing mods in parts.
Hooray for the 200th post writeup!
Oh, and Horray for more Vulcan mods!

I anxiously await part 2.

Edit: Hooray for others doing some of my mods! Minimization ftw. :D

Edit again: ftw= for the win. His single link will pop out, and he clearly said that in Part two (although I definitely don't break up my parts this much.. Plunger replacement, Drum magazine, on the fly power increase and semi-automatic integration) he would show how to connect them. The other mod for homemade chains used shoelaces. That disturbs me.

Wait, so you made one barrel for the gun? Does the piece pop out after each shot and you have to lift the cover and put a new one in everytime? Also what does ftw mean?

I made a single link of chain. These will be mass produced (today) and then linked together. Then it will be a fully functioning chain. Right now, after the shot is fired, it drops out of the side and has to be manually fed back in. Oh, and FTW stands for For The Win. Even though I just realized splitlip covered this in his edit.

What was I gonna do, cut it off? What a terrible idea that would have been :P . The reason its split up this much is because it was late and I have to make 25 links, which is gonna take a little while. I didn't have access to the miter saw last night either.

EDIT: The links are done, but I haven't had a lot of time to work on this. I promise that I will have part two done ASAP.
