Now, this isn't entirely original, but the titan has been out for years too. I have actually combined some of the ball shooting work that Carbon and Baghead have done. I also have done the normal Titan mods, like pump plugging and safety removal, so I won't bother going in to those.

The gist of the modifications are simply to the barrel system, but honestly they are nearly useless without plugging the pump. Carbon's ball shooting barrels focused on a slightly modified 1-1/4" PVC coupler, but I didn't want to be stuck with JUST balls (sounds creepy). I wanted to be able to use EVERYTHING in the Nerf arsenal. We will begin with these six pieces.



Front and center, you should recognize the original Titan barrel cut down to just the threads. The next row back has 1-1/2" ABS pipe to female threaded adapter. On the right is a 1-1/2" to 1/2" female threads PVC reducing bushing. On the left and right, in the back row, are two 1-1/2" ABS pipe to male threaded adapter. In the middle is the 1-1/4" PVC coupler.



We'll start with the easy part. We'll take the reducer bushing, the Titan barrel, the female thread adapter, and one of the male thread adapters and prep them with ABS/PVC cleaner.



Then we add the universal pipe adhesive and combine the Titan barrel with the female threaded adapter, and the bushing with the male threaded adapter. Yay! now we have a singled titan!



Of course, since no one actually wants to be hit by one, I've installed one of my patented combination micro/arrow barrels that I use on my triple strike and BBB. The Titan will shoot one of these green arrows 75 Feet! I'll explain how it's built later.

Part two!


The next step is to sand down the 1-1/4" coupler on the outside, so that it will fit inside the remaining 1-1/2" male thread adapter. I also took the opportunity to sand down the inside lip of the coupler to allow the balls to work better. Don't remove the lip completely, just enough so that the balls will pop in and out with a little force.



Yay! Now we can shoot balls! Time to start testing!



Huh... How do I keep track of how many times I've pumped the Titan? 1, 2, 3, 4.... Crap. Now the pressure gauge says full power. This will never do. So I took out the old gauge and replaced it with a REAL gauge. It's kinda tight in that little rotating head, so I had to make my own elbow adapter to go from the 1/8" NPT input on the gauge to the Titan hose.



Position it so the pipe pokes the the hose hole....



Then glue the gauge to the rim and reassemble. We end up with this...

Back to testing.... I began by shooting balls at different pressure levels.

20 PSI 15 Feet
30 PSI 25 Feet
40 PSI 35 Feet
50 PSI 45 Feet
60 PSI 40 Feet

I couldn't pump beyond 60-65 PSI, due to an apparent (though slow) leak. Just to find out, I installed the modified barrel on my stock (blue) Titan and pumped it up until the OP valve stopped any further increase in pressure. Then fired. And was thoroughly disappointed. The ball, and every other ball I shoot our of the stock unit only goes 15 feet. So I guess that means that the stock pressure of the Titan is about 20PSI, just like most of the other Nerf guns.

So there you have it. Any questions? Comments? Advice?

I like the pressure gauge, but the other stuff has been done before. Basically though, you still can't really use it in a war, right? It's a singled titan with a plugged over release, the arrows aren't accurate, the balls don't have the range (though it is awesome, and no one else can use your ammo), and you don't have an Absolver mod (shotty attachment, I just like the name) on there. Is your singled barrel thing cpvc in plastic on a threaded brass fitting or what? You said you were gonna explain that.

I also didn't like the mocking of my ending for your part one.

That's never stopped me. Seriously.. a 45-50 foot range for a ball is insane. you'd be amazed how useful that actually is. I mean, I've royally owned before using a ball-titan. It's far more viable than most people give them credit for.

That's never stopped me. Seriously.. a 45-50 foot range for a ball is insane. you'd be amazed how useful that actually is. I mean, I've royally owned before using a ball-titan. It's far more viable than most people give them credit for.

I would love to see that. Everyone mocks the person with a ball gun, and he owns them all.

Hah. I just can't agree with the 30 pumps or whatever to get to 60 psi and with his slow leak be pumping too just to keep a 40ft range.

What kind of balls did you use? the green nerf balls? Hey bags, how did you modify your titan to shoot the green balls?

Like I said, it's not really original. But there really hasn't been much done with the balls. My arrows are surprisingly accurate, though.

I like how the balls have truly become "ballistic". The neighborhood kids all wanted a chance to shoot the ball-titan. It was pretty funny. I had to restrict my son and nieces to allow it's use only under my supervision...

Not so much... They definitely curve away if there is a little extra resistance on one side or the other.

I don't own any green balls, but the yellow nerf balls work nicely and gain a few feet over the practice golf balls I use most of the time.

Are you kidding? EVERYONE laughs when we speak of ballistic balls. Seriously. And if you don't, then you take this shit WAY too seriously.

I'm not very serious about too many things. Actually pretty much nothing...
I guess putting "seriously" in there kinda got misunderstood there a little. And yeah, it can be funny sometimes. Albeit a little over-used at times.
