Hey,I've been getting complaints(I help out at Verizon Store),About getting a random phone call from a number with a 206 area code. Is this a problem for anyone else outside of Oregon?
We might have to mess with some servers,If it's a constant problem.
But whatever you do, Don't press "1" on the key-pad,We aren't sure what this does but we are pretty sure it's a scam.
Thank you all for your help with this problem. Hopefully we can get it under control.

-Red

EDIT: Details about the call seem to be they are from the "Credit Union" and are stating your card has been canceled. I myself got the call and Found it odd seeing I don't use Credit Union.

EDIT#2: The Number seems to be the same for all cases,And thats 206-857.

I haven't had this problem yet, but I live in New Jersey so I don't think its a big problem outside of your state. It may be a scam. Something to steal account information and the such. Hope you get it straightened out with no problems.

Now that you mention credit union, then I've gotten similar calls. They abruptly stopped when I threatened to...do things that would harm the mans personal well being.

EDIT 2: Do what Rambo says, it will save you awkward questions, and time, as I've dealt with it over several months.

Since when do credit unions give out credit cards? I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure that's not what they do. Not that I'm attacking you, just giving you more information on why it sounds like a scam.

I recommend you tell your customers to report the number to the National Do Not Call Registry - I've had similar problems that have been solved by filing a complaint there.

I am in WV, and I got that call, but it was from 868, I believe, and many people I know have gotten the calls too. I use US Cellular.

Minnesota, and no calls like that.

Oh, but I would like you to talk to your higher ups about implementing some sort of way to send a notcie when you have used your number of texts and minutes for the month because before unlimited (which was cheaper then the plan i was on before. Go figure) I had gotten HUGE fines twice, and by huge, I mean $500. As a broke ass teen, this sucks. So to save other people the problem, please if you could maybe pitch an idea like that.

I live in CO, and I got a call today from an unidentified number. I couldn't really understand exactly what they were saying, but now it seems as though they were talking about something like this, which makes no sense, because i'm only 14. Whatever, though. I wasn't hurt, so oh well.

Since at least {Checks RAMBO's profile.} eight years before you were born. That I know of from personal experience, anyway. Probably a lot longer, actually.

So, after checking your profile I've discerned that you decided to be an overly concerned asshole a while after you signed up here. I made a mistake and you decided to try to humiliate me further? Way to act your age ( or the age you pretend to be ).

It's already possible, It depends on what provider you have though. If you have Verizon you can sign up for a monthly "check up" ifs about 2$ and once a month(or you can request) you get a text message with your fees. For you can go on to our website Here. and Register your number and you can check up on how many minutes and texts you have used.

Fact is - the first time I got a credit card issued by a credit union was in late 1982, when I moved to Texas to help design new computers for the F-111. Interpret whatever you wish, however you wish, but from where I sit, math and first hand experience seem to count for something.

If you're sensitive about your age, you don't have to enter it. I'd be a little surprised if that's the case though, because you're certainly not among the youngest group. I would show just the year on mine ('57) but the site isn't set up to accept partial entries.

DAMN how old are you?!?!

Edit:
Not really, but I was surprised you said got a credit card in 1982, which made you around 18, so you were born around 1964, which means you'd be ~44. I mean, its cool and all, but I was surprised.

Also, my sister had been called by this number a bunch of times, and random scammers. She has Verizon.

Keef, do the math.

2008 (current year) - 1957 (he told you the year of his birth) = Old enough to throw you over his knee and beat you like a red-headed stepchild.

It doesn't matter what your age is, only that you enjoy nerfing and that you love to share it with others. Read the quote from Carbon in my signature. All is explained with his words.

On topic...I'm one of the many that never saw anything good in Verizon, though my carrier does use their towers. I will have to ask my parents if they are having this problem. Helio has no such issues.
