ok im new and dont have a lot of guns but i heard some one say the recon has bad range, is it really that bad?

Anyways, yes, the Recon does suck. Also for future reference, use the search function located in the upper right hand corner of your screen. And since your already up there, take a peek at the Nerfhaven Code of Conduct, located in the upper left hand corner of your screen.
If you're looking for a good starter gun, try out a Nite Finder, they're cheap and easy to mod.

Your grammar sucks balls! Get an English text book and thesaurus instead! Also, seriously? A Firefly?
The main issue with the Recon is lack of performance due to poor plunger design. It is difficult to modify, and even when it is, you don't get that much more range out of it.

I'm getting about 40-50ft out of my modded Recon with Taggers. Check my vid: (How to make your Recon shoot Taggers) and your Recon will be relatively good indoor primary.
