First off I would like to thank TAiLsChaser for giving me the information about paintball barrels. Secondly feel free to give me all the crap you want about using C02 and how its not technically a Longshot.

So to make a long story short. I simply ripped out every last piece from the inside of a longshot, and then cut the outer rims to fit my paintball gun. After that I took a one foot section of 1/2 inch brass and using some o-rings and glue, securely fastened it into the end of the paintball barrel. While keeping all of the important pieces visible. Such as the action and safety.

Now the only reason why I'm telling you this is because I got amazing range results. Here is what it looks like.



I know it looks sloppy but I'll neaten it up later.




No official ranges yet, but it definitely out shoots the National Geographic gun by at least 70ft.

(It only works with stefans. I had to use two 7/0 fishing weights on the top of my dart for it to fly. It shreds streamline darts.)

That is awesome. Ever think about a breech system That can still fire longshot clips? Also does'nt the Co2 destroy plastic?

Yes, but this is a complete paintball gun inside a longshot shell. None of the working parts are plastic.

Draconis is completely right. I'll probably add a breach to it so I can use the clip and not have to muzzle load it. If you have a spare paintball gun. I would totally do it. Its really fun to shoot.

It's a little sad that you gutted the longshot and simply used its barrel and shell. I hope you do something with the internals that now is without a home.

At any rate, I bet it gets incredible ranges, and would be fun to shoot. I also bet you could indeed put in an angel breech or something to take a clip. That would be pretty cool.

So why does it shred stock darts? Is there something with the mechanism that causes the darts to break? And dude, that is the most mutilated Longshot I've ever seen. Must have been a pretty hard mod if you're going to have to mutilate your gun like that.

No it is the massive amount of power from the co2 that shreds the dart.

Yeah, NerfCrazy is right, any hi-power gun will destroy stock darts. That's why people usually use heavily-weighted stefans for these guns.

I consider this pretty useless for the following reasons:

1. All you actually did was add length, weight, and unnecessary mass to a paintball gun, thereby actually decreasing its utility.

2. It's not actually useful for much of anything; it's an experiment that's been done before, and it's a bit of a cop-out, as air howitzers go.

3. You gutted a perfectly good (and practical) nerf blaster to make a doghouse for your paintball marker. Congrats. ~Rork

I also fail to see the point of this "mod." Why not just use the paintball gun on its own with a modified barrel for darts if necessary? The only way this would actually be useful is if you integrated the paintball gun in such a way that the stock bolt and magazine system still worked. It would be even more awesome if you could somehow make it semi-automatic, using excess CO2 to move the bolt and load in a new round from the magazine.

At first I thought it was a long shot that uses paint ball components.
Instead I find out its a PB gun inside a gutted long shot shell.

Everything you guys have said is right. Its bulky, illegal, and nothing more than a paintball gun in a nerf shell.

But I figured since I had a broken LS anyway I might as well use it for something. And I decided that I'm going to add a breech, just so that it will be functional.

You could totally use that thing to pull a prank on your friends. I mean what if you were expecting to be shot by a dart and got shot with a paintball. That would be funny.

I do think you should have left it a paintball gun. That thing would be pretty cool looking. You'd get nothing but questions at any scenario. What kind of gun is that btw?

Well its interesting. But i would not gut a longshot i would just simply add a barrel that fits stefans. And also a response to matrixman. It would not be funny, it would be incredibly painfull and would probs draw blood.
