What Does A Sidearm Mean?

Please help me find out what a sidearm is, I know what a primary and secondary are but people included a sidearm please help, and sorry for my noobness I just started.

A sidearm can be clasified as a pistol or similar gun that can be used quickly as a sort of backup weapon.

It is pretty much what the definition of the word is. There should be no variance of what peoples definition of it is.

Its like a gun that you would be used as a back up gun to your primary. Many people use pistols as a side arm. An example of this would be a night finder is my sidearm to my longshot. So that is what a sidearm is basically. One more thing why did you categorize this under modifaction.

They do - it is just that kids today don't realise that there are words inside of books, much like they can find on the internet!
