Well, this rifle would be powered very simply, every time you wanted to fire, you push the bolt forward and turn it up. The bolt follows a groove in whatever size PVC, shaped like an L. What would happen is that attached to the end of your bolt is a spring, with two hard caps at the end. Farther along your main PVC pipe, is a stop, which would be part of the trigger. So, after you've pushed the bolt all the way along the groove, the spring would be compressed. Then, when you pull the trigger out of the way, the spring would uncompress, which then pushes your dart out of the barrel. To reset, all you have to do is pull the bolt back and reset the trigger. It looks good on paper, but what are your ideas?

Your going to need a goood size spring and a plunger tube that works well on pvc. What size pvc are you using, because 1/2 inch pvc is too small, and the air output would be alot less than it should be. The idea of the bolt is good, but were seriously going to need to improve on it. Im not quite sure what your saying, but im pretty sure its one of these:

When you push the bolt forward, it cocks the spring

That would mean that the gun fires backwards, the dart is in the plunger tube and is seriously messed up.

When you push the bolt backwards, the spring compresses

This would be the only reasonable idea...partially. The part of the bolt thats in the pvc would have to be the plunger tube head, that transimits the air to the dart/barrel. To get a good seal when you push it back is nearly impossible. Nothing could stop the air going thruough the cracks of the plunger tube and the head.

These are what I got from reading your post. I hope the design your talking about is different, clarify please, because I dotn understand what your saying...Unless its this ^

First, there is no air.

Second, the gun fires in the direction of the trigger and the direction you cock it.
3/4 Inch PVC seems to be a good size. The dart is in the same tube, because there is only one tube. The dart is held in front of the bolt and spring by the trigger.

First off, why accuse us of being "dumbasses"? That's really mature.

Second, we knew that eight days ago... COUNT THEM. Eight (8) 4+4 = 8! Read the bloody thread and it's post dates before you go and post like that. Do you think that we can't figure it out? Christ, you are really arrogant. And this would be your second time in this forum... that's really sad.

Anyways, that gun isn't a nerf gun if the dart is basically slapped out of the barrel by a spring. He isn't making a plunger gun, and those things wouldn't give him the range he wanted anyway.

Thanks for bringing back and old topic/debate which everyone finished a week ago.
