Well, after Apoc and NJWar, I noticed I needed a good sidearm. But not huge, I wanted pistol sized. And I had a Discshot shell, and a couple airtanks. After contemplating all my ideas, I made my Discshot 3k... *dun dun duh*

Yeah, I guess half the people here are disgusted, or even appalled that I did this to an already good sidearm. Form over function with this thing...

But before I show anymore, watch the quick video I made.

In there, you can kinda see the airtank, and where I had to dremel. Its blurry because its so close (and set on 3.1 Megapixels).

Here, you can see the slide action pump "open". It takes two pumps of the slide to get 55-70 feet (more or less).

I came up with the idea for a pump when I just had the black piece there as a handle. It was uncomfortable, so I drilled a hole, and hot glued a headless screw in it. Then, I remember a couple NF mods with a slide to cock it (not the Maverick), so I dremeled some 3/4" PVC to make the slide. I cut a groove to fit a nail, which I drilled into the pump tube so the slide could only go a certain distance, and not get off the track.

To connect the pump, I use a 1/4" quick couple.

As of now, I have a keyring trigger, attached with some thick wire my Dad had. I prefer this over the normal trigger because I happen to press the DS's trigger too often, and I can use my thumb to shoot and hold the PVC "foregrip" (not in pictures) at the same time.

I'm thinking about making another one of these and either dual-wielding, or make a "Manta" Mod with them, and maybe a 2k in the middle.

I may post a mini-write-up if anyone is interested in making one, and I'd be glad to. This thing is really fun to use, and very quiet. Great for my type of game :D

I posted this as it's own thread because I thought it deserves it. I took a lot (3 days of constant work) of time on this, and it paid off. And this IS the Modifications Forum

So, what do you all think? I'm also thinking about a paintjob...

Well that's an interesting idea, good job. What are the ranges? Also how does this fit into the title?

Couldn't you have kept the original internals and added this barrel where the dart holders were?

I REALLY like the pump restrictor/slide. One question though, why didn't you make it longer to allow more air per pump?

Norther:
Thanks! Now I can do a Manta DS3K :P

Doubleshot:
Well, I didn't have a lot of 3/4" PVC, and I didn't want the handle to go out too far.

Nat:
The barrel is 2.5 inches, but I may go up to 4.5 inches. the handle is too small to fit the 3k's pump though...

Lt. Stefan:
3 Mods: Minimization, integration, and slide.
I dunno if I wrote it, but I minimized it before I integrated. But I may integrate something into the ammo holders, thanks for the idea.

Grah! I was just finishing reinforcing one of these I made with a nitefinder as a primary! I had a 3k with a broken shell and a NF with broken internals. you`ll see the writeup soon enough.

EDIT: Mine is intended to be used as a primary and gets 94 feet flat with 3 and 1/2 pumps.

Very nice. I like how it keeps the small sidearm quality. I actually finished up my discshot 2k a few weeks ago. I integrated everything into the dart holder area. This way the pump was in the front. Unfortunately it isn't nearly as small as yours looks. Excellent work.

I would suggest a SSPB be integrated in the ammo holder spot. You could even hook it up to the big pump. One question though... Why didn't you attach the valve to the trigger?

He said he always pulled the DS's trigger to much by accident, so the keyring trigger was a better alternative.
But this is one cool mod. I like how the pump is like a slide. That's really creative.

It's not like that. I put lube on it and its the same. Its just stuck. And when I cock it back it goes farther back then usual. Also I push as hard as I can and it wont go back in. I've tried the methods and they wont work. Also pics are up.
