A while ago I walked into a hardware store with hopes of finding something that will give me an idea for a shotgun attachment for my Big Blast. I found that something. That something was a dozen somewhat random items of hardware. I had no idea if it would work well or not, but on paper (in my head) my calculations made it seem like it would. The concept is there would be an adapter to connect it to the bushing on my gun and a chamber to equally distribute the pressure amongst the four barrels.

Notes before I begin:
-This thing is expensive. The parts cost me over $20. It was a bit of a suprise at the checkout.
-I had no idea I would decide to do a write-up for this at the time of the build, so the collection of pictures
from the constructing process are rather incomplete.
-Getting the parts was rather on the fly, so exact part descriptions is hard to recall.
-I really don't find it necessary to do a step-by-step tutorial for this, being as I doubt anyone will actually end
up building one. It is really just for educational purposes.

Materials:
-Abs cap (4" I believe?)
-Abs funnel thing (for lack of proper term)
-A small section of Abs pipe (connects the cap and funnel)
-1/2" Hex bushing (fits in funnel thing)
-1/2" nipple (skrews into bushing, connecting it to the bushing on my gun)
-Four 1/2" couplers and pipes (7" length)

How I did it:
I drilled four holes in the cap for the couplers and barrels, glued everything in place, and then connected it to the glued bushing, funnel, and nipple via some ABS pipe and glue. I also cut off half of the nipple where the threaded part ends because it was unnecessary. Then I painted.

This is what it looked like before I drilled the four holes in the cap and glued it together. You can see the purple primer on the bushing and the ABS pipe in the cap

Doing these three things that I didn't do will increase range dramatically:

1. Place petg in the PVC.
2. Run the petg all the way to the back of the coupler attachment.
3. Fill the dead space with the spray foam expanding insulation stuff.

This thing is heavier and more expensive than the actual gun. But nonetheless it looks awesome imo, and the ranges are way better than expected. I will post approximate ranges at some point.

It's hard to tell from the (rather incomplete) pics, but this seems like it would create a hell of a lot of dead space. Clean work, though...

This is pretty cool, although, it looks like there is a LOT of dead space. I would have drilled the holes closer together, so the barrels would'nt be so far apart. I think you might lose some air that way. But when you say, "Ranges were better than expected," what were those ranges exactly?

It's not like that. I put lube on it and its the same. Its just stuck. And when I cock it back it goes farther back then usual. Also I push as hard as I can and it wont go back in. I've tried the methods and they wont work. Also pics are up.

In an effort to save some money for anyone else making similar adapters, take a look here-> PVC Distributors You can pick which sizes the inlet and outlet ports are, and then just add the reducer bushing on the inlet. Should be less than half the cost.

Wouldn't putting four small stefans into one barrel do the same thing? It works great on my Big Bad Bow.

That would considered shot gunning, which is generally extremely erotic at major nerf wars. However, multibarrels are not. Well done sir.

Thanks for the wright up

rork and Bomberman- Yes, the issue with the amount of dead space did concern me, but the chamber was the best way to equally distribute the pressure. It still works very well though.

Icespartan_1114- Thanks. I wouldn't say this will increase the RoF, becuase it is really just one spread. It will increase the amount of fire though. For a good RoF Bbbb I would check out Forsaken_Angel24's XXL Skeet shot mod that has Bbbb internals and a rotating barrel.

Edit:

Also: Exact range measurements pending.

Having never been to a major war - I'm curious about this. Are you saying that only powerful guns being shotgunned in this fashion are extremely erotic, or any gun? For example, FA's Longshot mods are capable of loading multiple darts for a shotgun effect - would that be extremely erotic - or just a shotgunned Big Blast/Titan/etc?

If the Longshot would indeed be extremely erotic, what is the reasoning for that?

I believe he means multiple shots in one barrel. The gun used is irrelevant.

If that is so, my question is why? Is there something inherently dangerous in doing this that I'm not seeing? I shotgun-load a few things in my arsenal (mainly blowguns and airguns) and they fire with less power than a normal load, and with only a small spread. I can't see this being dangerous or overly advantageous - at least not any more so than something loaded down with multiple barrels.

So I ask again - if shotgun loading is the no-no - why?

I have a few suggestions to making this better.

1. Place petg in the PVC.
2. Run the petg all the way to the back of the coupler attachment.
3. Fill the dead space with the spray foam expanding insulation stuff.

Doing these three things will increase range dramatically.

This did make it to the directory. Although there are a lack of pictures it looks easy enough to do.
