There are two different kinds of recons. One has it where the arm bar actually sticks out, and another where the arm bar is coved by by a black piece in the back. The one where the bar sticks out is a bigger piece. I was wondering if this affects range at all.

The black piece doesn't affect the range of the recon. Well, at least in my clan's recons. That black piece is just a cover for the plunger arm. The newer recons all have this piece.

I have them both and I replaced that black piece with the older piece and it effected the same,also I had a friend fire them side by side with me and they were almost identical,so I don't know,could have been the darts.

my recon had that. i fired mine without the black piece and with it. the ranges were the same.

The black "Butt plug" as guys I know call it, is just there to protect the bit inside. It is on all new Recons, because apparently you could break the plunger off if you hit it while it was extended in the old ones.

If you want to take it off, its quite easy, just unscrew the two screws on the back of the black thing, and remove it, you don't need to take the rest of the gun apart or anything like that.

The black piece has no effect. I believe it is so that someone doesn't see the word armed and freak out because they're retarded.
