A Dollar Store Pistol Vs. Lnl

Not too special, but Exis reported some good ranges with it. Many people mentioned Nerf's Lock 'n Load. It definately feels a lot different in your hand. I don't know real well, but the LnL has a much nicer feeling handle and trigger. Part of this could be attributed the the fact that this Chinese company that makes 'em didn't use the highest grade plastics, but hey, they work. Here is a pic of the LnL and the $ Pistol side by side.
Very similar in size. They also both shoot mega-sized foam darts, but the $ Pistol's darts are 2/3 the length of Nerf Megas, and less standardized in size. Some fit loosely in the barrel, others you can barely shove down. This makes the gun not very dependable. Its darts also have a larger suction cup than Nerf's. Here is a pic of the internals of the 2 guns.
The trigger mechanism of the $ Pistol is insanly simple and really cheap feeling, which lends to the crappy feel of the trigger. The handle and trigger are small, which might fit some hands more than others. I didn't like the feel of it when I first started using it, but when you take off the orange pieces on either side it feels more solid. I tried putting each gun's plunger rod in the other's (kinky huh) and amazingly they fit each other perfectly. That is to say, they have the same plunger tube diameter. However, the length is not the same. Refer to this picture for clarification.
Alright. That about rounds out my comparison. I should probably get around to modding the Dollar pistol some time, but I've got lots of other projects on my mind too. Any questions or comments are appreciated.

Yes, how well does it perform out of the package? Not just range, does it have a "cheap" feel to it, or does it actually feel rounded out?

I'm also happy to hear that A Dollar is carrying them generally. I was getting a flood of orders, and it would be nice to have some other sellers for people to turn to.

Too sexy for my shirt,
So sexy that it hurts,
Too sex-y for a can of beans. YEAH!

Due to the cheap plastics used, it doesn't feel as sturdy or dependable as an LnL, even if it outperforms it. After you take off the orange handle fringe, it is a little more rounded out. I still find the trigger to be crude feeling. But like Exis said, even $5 would be a great price for a weapon like this. *You don't have to pay $25 for an awesome spring pistol.*
