Alright guys, just so you know I'm now validating a ton of new members so we're sure to get a few retards. If you see it, PM myself or anyone else on the staff and we'll deal with it.

To all you new guys, welcome to Nerf Haven. I hope you enjoy your stay and become productive members of this site. However, you should know that we expect quite a bit from you. Please read and know the Code of Conduct for it is the word of god and will see that you make it out of here alive. Defy it and you will bring yourself the swift sting of our blades. Or we will just ban you. Either way, it's unpleasant.

Seeing as I'm the one doing most of the validating these days, I feel a bit responsible for all the pants on head postings we've been getting, so I'll add another quick bit of advice. Your best bet is to read the board alot and only post a couple of times a day. It's almost best to kind of stay under the radar at first. Don't be afraid to ask questions, but make sure you search first for the answer. Google Bots are constantly all over this site, so you can probably just Google it.

I've been thinking. And I think alot of the FNG type questions that flood the gates might be due to some confusion as to where the mod directory actually is. I will admit my first time here I thought the mod's directory was Ass because all it had was old ass guns and it was very out dated. This is the link on the main page that directs to modifications.
Now after being here for a bit I did find the ACTUAL modifications "directory/thread" that FA_24 put together. I'm thinking if we replace the link to the old mods page and redirect it to the new page it will help cut down on the "I think I searched and couldn't find anything" threads and make info a bit easier to find.

I do agree however that a lot of the BS simply has to do with lazy fucks that can't be bothered to look around while they are waiting to be validated.

I'll second Blacksunshine's sentiments. You can't blame newbies for everything. The important information could be made far more obvious and accessible. I'd posture that by simply adding a link to the modifications direction, some FAQs, and whatever other relevant stickies there are to the board header (where the NerfHaven and CoC links are), you'll see less common questions asked. And I think it'll make the forum easier to use for people like me too.

Other more comprehensive changes could improve things more dramatically but it'd take a lot of work. Having done some comprehensive changes to websites in the past few months I can tell you it makes a big difference but can and will take a lot of time.

If you search the name of a gun and click thread titles only, you will find mods for the gun. If you don't find any there, more then likely it isn't worth modding. We aren't going to make the site idiot proof seeing as we're trying to get rid of the idiots.

Its not about making it idiot proof just updating links. Refreshing the information. Since a lot of guns are mentioned often in multiple threads on this forum searching will also bring up a lot of crap that is of no help as well as people asking questions and getting yelled at for not searching. So it only makes sense to update the links to specific things such as modifications on the main site. That way the newbies can access that info right when they get on the site and before they even hit the forum.

Dr. Nerf, though I'd never call the validity your PHD into question, I might suggest that you had missed the Code of Conduct which Dumpster just linked so graciously. Read it and you will see that we erotically massage posting in long dormant topics, especially when you have nothing significant to add to them. There are several other points of interest to be found in that document which might go a long way towards you being able to stick around. Might I recomend a brief parusal between surgeries?
