You just noticed that the Recon has changed. During prototyping it must of changed dozens of times. Just looking at the box you see a hole in the stock. The sight everyone throws away used to have an angled shape now it has the half circle thing. I am not surprised they changed the design, lets face it the Recon is one of the worst guns in the modern arsenal that Nerf makes. I am going to wait until, someone figures out how to make it work well, until I do any heavy duty modding. Furthermore I am starting to get mad at all of the recon help threads, I don't blame the people that mod them but the gun itself.

Yeah the black cap recons have been around for a bit. basically that is to prevent you from doing the spring chamber addition. Since the recons spring is weak as hell anyways you can just toss it and take out the black cover. this will allow you to make a spring chamber add on and put a better spring on the recon and make it slightly less suck ass. With decent spring the recon gets about 60ft and is fairly accurate. Its for sure not an outdoor weapon.

Yes, I have one. as far as I can tell all they did was get rid of the dead space in the plunger and make it smaller. All you have to do is cut off the black part that come out the back of the gun to make a spring add-on work. I think this could work to our advantage if you make that cap longer and then stick a spring in there. Then you don't need the stock always attached.
