So heres the thing, I play nerf battles regularly, but we play them in peoples houses. It's fairly boring to play in the same house over and over, and doesn't offer the size, or variability that I want from a full on nerf war.

So my question is, how do I find a good place to nerf.
Public librarys, school buildings, office buildings, these kinds of places would be really nice for a nerf war. But how do I get access to places like that..

So where do you guys play nerf wars and if its in a place other than a house, or outside, how did you get acess to the building?

Just about every war planned on this site is generally outside. Though I believe there has been some indoor wars, they are few and far between.

My wife and I are sponsors for the youth group at our church. We play in the church building - usually on Friday or Saturday evenings - as activities for the youth to bring their friends out to. We usually have a pretty good turnout (varying from 5-25 people at various events). The building is large enough and has varied enough layouts in the different rooms to make for some very interesting firefights.

Of course, there are certain rules about area being off-limits, and one area where running is strictly forbidden due to the large amount of glass in the windows & doors nearby.

I think that a local park is a good place for a nerf war.

Most wars are at local parks, like others have said.

You can usually nerf at a school during the summer, and sometimes on weekends during school, mainly elementary schools(not so much high schools because of sports).

Unless you know someone who OWNS a warehouse/office building, forget about it. No business owner will let a bunch of kids run around their facility.

Same with public libraries, unless you find one under construction, which is a lot of fun, you just need to worry about physical danger and cops.

I would say get out to parks and play there, that's your best chance.

If you need to stay in the house, you can try moving furniture, that would change the flow of a war and switch things up nicely.

Thank you for all the info everybody. I guess I'm going to have to buck it up and go outside, we just avoid going outside due to the increase loss of darts. I think I'm goign to contact the elementary schools around ehre and see if any of them will let me in. Other than that, I gotta go find a building under construction.

Great place-local baseball fields. My town has a complex called Featherland, it would be AWESOME for a war. There are some buildings, open space, woods, and parking lots, plus it's like 100,000 square feet.

Generally calling the school will net you a negative response. What you have to reallize is that there is absolutely nothing ilegal about nerfing in a public place. The horsemen used to nerf exclusively at a local elementary school on the weekends when we first started out. The Police would come each and every time. And each and every time we would show them a nerf gun, explain what we were doing, and they would chuckle and move on. You really have nothing to lose by simply going to your location and nerfing.

Yep - as VACC said, public places are fair game. School playgrounds (on weekends), public parks, etc. All are ok, as long as you aren't harrassing anyone. Basically, just use common sense, don't shoot anyone who isn't playing, don't be a nuisance, put your game on hold or move to a different area if people move through/into the area you're using, and you'll be fine.

Of course, private property (which includes people's yards, church lots, etc.) all require permission to use, but you'll never know until you ask.
