Right now I'm working on a nerfer database that is so awesome that its very existence will cause the frappr development team's faces to melt off like at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark. It might even get you laid. The problem is that I'm doing it for a school project that's due in two weeks, and I need a big ol' set of data to test it on to make sure it works. So what I need from you is to make sure you've got your location information in your NerfHaven profile up to date. Just Click Here to update your NerfHaven profile with your location. The location has to be compatible with Google Maps. You can check the compatibility by entering your profile URL At this test page I've set up, which incidentally also adds your location to my database and marks it as recently updated. So even if you're pretty sure your location is correct, check it anyway so that I have it in my Database now.

The map that pops up on the test page is just to confirm your location. It doesn't have the other nerfers' info up yet, but you can expect to see a complete map in a couple of weeks.

Edit: If you don't want to be too specific with your location information, you're welcome to put in just your state or county, but zip codes, towns (followed by the state) and anything else you can plug into google maps is fine.

I submitted it, realized Western Washington wasn't very specific, so I changed it and re-submitted it. Will that mess anything up?

Changing your information and then resubmitting the form is fine. In fact, it's encouraged. If anyone else is having problems, feel free to ask for help.

Edit: Eastern <town/state> is not going to work unless it's actually the name of a town, county, or state. If you want to be more specific than state, and less specific than town, you can always specify your county.

The only problem with this I could see is that it's not really "super-accurate" on the where in terms of distances... I.E. I'm almost 20 miles from the "default loc" of my home town, of course... I don't want to post my street address on the Internets either... so so far so good.


I actually really like the idea behind this though.

I actually really like the idea behind this though.

You can enter a zipcode, which may be more specific than your town name if you're in a big city. You can also enter an intersection.

I submitted what is roughly my place, as I don't want to be too specific about this information on the internet.

I put in my town, state, and zip code. Didn't really want to go much more specific then that. Good luck on your project, and thanks for the crossbow (No matter how crazy all you guys think I am for paying that much for it, it may end up being a gift to my brother since he had one when he was little.)

In the page I set up it's ordered by your NerfHaven user ID, which is that number at the end of the URL. If you ordered everyone on NH by their NerfHaven registration date, those user ID numbers would be in order.
