I wonder if anyone here knows how to modify the piston so that instead of the recoil, fire, push forward to original position, it goes in this sequence: recoil, push forward, fire.
Working on a mod, just wanted input from the vets.

Sorry, but no. Before the "firing" phase, the air in the "tank" is already compressed. It is the releasing of this air that fires the dart. So, in order to "push forward" you would have to increase the PSI significantly (to a pressure that the parts couldn't handle).

Also, your description of "recoil, fire, push forwward" seems a little strange to me. I always thought of it as the opposite:
Push Forward
Fire
Return (or recoil) to original position

If I'm remembering correctly, when you pull the trigger it pushes the piston flush with the clip (push forward), releases the air (fire), then because the air pressure is no longer pushing the piston forward, the spring pushes the piston back to it's starting point. (Then having returned and resealed, the cycle begins again).

Thanks anyway.
Actually, your description(if it's right), might actually be good for me...
