Okay, so you want another shot on your oh-so-revered primary, huh? Well, this writeup will show you how to integrate an at2k into your crossbow cleanly and quite easily. I've had requests for more information on how I did this mod, so I'll spell it out once to help everyone.

Materials:

1 x Crossbow
1 x Airtech 2000 internals
1 x 1.5" long or so drywall screw (or equivalent)
1 x Dremel w/cutting attachment
1 x Tape measure
Duct tape (if needed)
Extra vinyl tubing (if needed)

Okay, let's start with a reference pic. Bottom crossbow is in teardown mode, top is the finished product, which we'll get to later.

Posted Image

First things first, open up your at2k and remove its internals:

Posted Image

Next, open up your crossbow. For this mod, we're going to focus on the dead space below the plunger tube:

Posted Image

Now, you're going to need to create some room for your at2k pump to go, so remove this tab (you won't need the screw that goes in it):

Posted Image

Next, get out a tape measure and measure 7" from the front screw tab:

Posted Image

Then mark a dot at that location and place the at2k pump in the shell to make sure it will fit. Once it fits, drill a hole in your crossbow shell just a bit smaller than the screw you have to go through it. Now, place the screw in the hole and once again make sure your pump tube will fit and rest comfortably against the tube. The purpose of this screw is to hold the pump in place so that when you pump it, there is support and your at2k guts don't move around.

Posted Image

The next part is to make a path for the pump handle to rest in the shell. Notice the cross like shape of the at2k pump handle? Well, lay the pump handle and tube assembly in the gun to see where you'll need to make some cuts:

Posted Image

Then, cut a cross type pattern in the front of BOTH HALVES of your shell in order to fit the pump handle's body. Once again, make sure your pump handle will fit, test close the shell, and sand everything down. Your hole for the pump to go through should look like this if you've done it right:

Posted Image

Now, all that's left is to figure out where you want the gun itself to come out of. On my first variant, I cut off much of the original barrel exit area and placed the at2k tank itself right on top of the shell. This is a viable option, although for my current iteration, Michaelangelo, I wanted a different layout. All you need to do for the layout that I have is to widen one of the holes along the crossbow's body (above the plunger tube), and extend the tubing on your at2k. Then, run the lines through the shell and out the side, and as you can see I just duct taped the guts to the side:

That part is really up to personal preference, but I like how mine turned out.

Final shots:

And there you have it, a clean pump location for an excellent 2-shot primary.

Looks good dude. Only thing I would be worried about is your trigger on the 2k. I'm sure you've tested it, but it looks like a little retard strength might bend the pin and you could possibly fumble finding it. You may be able to rig up with the wire ties in a way to keep the key ring straight and be able to eliminate the second. I obviously haven't modded a thing in years, but I'd definitely rock it. I had a 350 on the side of one for a while, to bad it started leaking the minute I put it on.

Yeah I've used this one for about 6 months now, no problems. I put the second keyring on just to change the angle and extend it, and it has held up fine. As for the fumbling, I keep one finger on each trigger at all times, and it works great.

Glad you're back from the dead, Talio. :)

I don't get my kicks out of you,
I don't feel the way I used to do.
I know its bad,
After what we had,
But I’m just not the angel you knew.

Actually I do have one question. What did you do to the xbow spring? You don't have any bungies or bands. Did I miss some cool mod for the bow that doesn't need them anymore? What kind of ranges are you getting from it?

Well I just picked up an at2k two days ago. Now I just need a crossbow! Hopefully someday I will have the privilege of having my own. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

This really seems like an excellent combo. Even though the crossbow is already perfect, the at2k still adds a great compliment to it's awesomeness! Nice work.

I don't like integrations but this one is clean when I read the title I was like "A clean itergration yeah right" but you actually made one. Kudos.

Nice Job!!! Very clean integration. I have a question i havent seen anybody who cut off the liqutron gauge and put the air tank where the old barrel was. Just an idea!

Talio.

I should have been clearer, I did this mod assuming that people already know how to mod a crossbow and an at2k, hence the "mini" mod. I get tired of people doing the same barrel replacement writeups over and over, and that's why I left it out. The orange xbow has a dt3 arrow shooter spring inside, and I use 4 large staples rubber bands tied together when I'm using it, but I didn't have them on at the time because I keep them off during storage (for longevity purposes). It gets normal xbow ranges, though. The blue xbow doesn't have a plunger head on the rod right now, and I'm currently in the process of fixing that one to get it working.

Well, I didn't cut off the gauge, but I did the other part on the first version of my blue xbow:

The original at2k trigger is on top and doubled as a trigger and sight.

Awsome!!! I remeber seeing that somewhere but exactly what i was talking about was putting the air tank in the part that sticks up where the old barrel came out of.
