Is your spring strong enough to create enough air pressure to launch it? How long is the spring? Is it nite finder length or longer? If its NF length than go with an ACE #49 spring. Is the o-ring the right size? I know its a stupid question but if the compression isn't right then you won't get desired ranges.

I was going to suggest that. Or maybe nest another spring in the one from the long shot if you can't get one from home depot. Check the O-ring while you're in there as well. But I think that isn't the problem.Try a HandyMan spring from Home Depot. But be sure to reinforce the trigger mechanism.

Also, you know those confeti bombs from the dollar store? I got one that was about a foot long, and its the strongest spring I have. Also it is the same diameter as a longshot spring but its about twice the length. You should try one of those.
