Australia is very much a recycling country:
1) Does america have "Op Shops" [Opportunity Shops] where everyone donates all there stuff to one store and they sell it all for like $1... i think in england there called "Oxfam SHops"
2) I know America has its occasional "Yard Sale" or Garage Sale as we prefer to call it, but how often do you get one in your local area...
3) Australia has something called hard rubbish where twice a year you dump out all your hard waste, which is like everything including the kitchen sink, and you score some cool shit out of it all, does america do this and do they scavenge as much as we do [N.B. Government is now handing out fines for those caught]

1) I believe so, they're called consignment shops here.
2) Yard sales are frequent only during certain times of the year (when the weather is awesome) and it all depends where you live. If you live in suburban New Jersey (like me) you will see tons of Garage Sales that span from Friday to Sunday. But if you live in the city, I believe you can forget about it.
3) Yeah we have a sort of "hard rubbish" thing, except it's once every month or so down here. The trash collection differs once again with wherever you live.

In Southern California, I have at least 30 garage sales per weekend within a 10 mile radius of my house. Year round.
We have an oversized waste day for junk thats too big for the trash can. It differs from city to city though since most cities now contract out waste disposal to private firms.
Technically it's illegal anywhere in the US to rummage through other people's garbage but nobody ever gets in trouble for it unless you're dumpster diving in a business park or somewhere people would get nervous and call the cops.

- umm by the way, what do you seriously think about australia...
excuse me but im jsut a very patriotic person and i enjoy hearing opinions of my country.....
edit #2:
has anyone seen Darkness Falls yet, i saw a "completely legitimate" version today and its all american, "american" people, "american" cars driving on the "american" side, in an "american" town, but i just worked out, its a completely australian cast filmed entirely in melbourne and there all putting on accents, i mean i can deal with nicole, russ and heath but an entire cast of phoneys, sorta changes your opinion of us now doesnt it, but i suppose if you want to make it big you have to cater to the yanks....
anyway, seen it??? what do you think???

2. Australia is this island continent that's kind of like Canada to me. You don't really have a negative opinion about them. The only difference between the two is that US senior citizens don't paddle down to Australia for cheap prescription drugs. In short, there is no negative opinion of Australia.

I used to. I read the rules a few times. It's really interesting.. and unusual. I tried to play it with people, but the rules confused them. So we ended up playing some modified "americanized" version of the game (no proper bowling, one batter, "foul" areas - it ended up like baseball), and it blew.do you guys actually know WTF cricket is let alone follow it???

I'm a big fan of rugby, but was confused when I heard of another sport in australia very similar... If you know what I'm talking about, could you give it a name?
I've never been to Australia, so my opinion would hypothetical..
But I do like accents...

umm yeah, no-one under 20 really follows rugby here, but theres two types, League and Union, each with there own retarded variations of the rules... pffft.... affectionately nicknamed thugby, for those who don't know, its gridiron, riced up with no padding.... and you can only pass backwards....
you know i think its a conspiracy, anything that the US sucks at they either ignore or bury deep underground by kaning in other sports... i mean, they suck at soccer and there's no chance you could beat the African and Indian countries in Cricket let alone us, one to two years back we were on a roll, we had world cups, championships i think we made 20 matches undefeated.... its a conspiracy, the one thing that you can never beat us at your country conveniantly[sp] forgets how to play and makes no effort of learning.... [/ramble]
umm yeah about Darkness Falls, i just thought it was really pathetic that Australians were playing not just acting as but acting purely for American's....

Cricket is boring. Just like baseball.
Soccer is catching on here in highschools and such, but it hasn't became much of a spectator sport yet.
