Ok, I'm gonna hope this topic hasn't been brought up before, so I'm sorry if this is a repeat. Anyways, I am currently making a maverick loser rifle, and yes its as insane as it sounds. I put in the air internals from a SM3K, it was working fine, but eventually the male threaded part of the tank that connects to the hose exploded, which separated it from the rest of the tank (I apologize for the lack of pictures, but if you have ever looked at this air tank it would make more sense). I tried gooping, epoxy, you name it, but nothing can repair it, so the whole tank has to be replaced.

Now for the main point of this topic: Most of you have way more nerf experience then I do, so I would like your opinion on what gun has the best air tank. Now when I say best, I mean durable, and has a good life span even after plugging the over pressure valve. (mine is plugged but i never exceeded 3 pumps, which it handled just fine for the first 40 or so shots...then it died).

If you feel this isn't well written or described, I am sorry, but this is my first topic on the haven. I'm rather new here haha

I'd go with an Airtech 2000 tank. They're commonly integrated into things, and they work really well. Most people pump it 4 times with the pump plugged. I have used AT2K's a lot, and I've never had one break on me. I have had a SM3K tank explode on me before, though.

Yeah SM3k tanks suck. I have had 3 have the exact same problem as you. I would go with a 2k tank, or an at3k tank, as I like those too. If you really want to be classy, a SM1.5k would work really well too.

Well, what are you looking for besides durability? Range, or RoF? Range wise, a Titan or a Blast Bazooka. As for RoF, you're gonna want an AT3K/AT2K. My battle arrangement is a RF20 and a quad barreled AT2K. Or on occasion I may use my new rifle I just built out of a super soaker. This one has a 12 inch long sports ball pump and a 26 inch barrel. At 5 pumps I can get about 150 feet level and angled about 250-300 feet. I have no clue why it shoots so far angled but it does. Anyways, tell us more about the qualities you want so we can better help you out!

Defiantly a Airtech 2000 airtank.

I'd have to rate it as OVER 9000!!! Out of 10.

AirTech 2000 tank.

4 pumps, ranges of 90+ minimum and they are durable.

Mine started leaking since I am stupid and I still use it in wars. It is that beastly.

I'm glad to see that this isn't unusual, that popping noice scared the crap out of me haha.

Banchee: well ROF is not that important for my purposes, the more power i can get the better, however I have a size limit since this thing will be roughly fitting in a maverick shell, a titan tank would be too big. I have a 18inch barrel on this thing, and before the sm3k tank blew i was getting 120ft flat, so I would like a tank that would keep my ranges around that or, of course, more

Well then, I would have to agree with everyone else when we say AT2K tanks. They're cheap, easy to find, and the guns themselves are small. Not to mention its very easy to integrate the guns in other places.

I primarily integrate with three different air tanks depending on the situation.

SM1500: Same size as the AT2K but out ranges it due to the larger dump valve diameter (the opening of the tank that goes to the barrel out of which the dart is fired). So, if you have access to one, it's way better than the AT2K because it's the same size, requires the same amount of air, but out ranges it. The only down side is the trigger pull is slightly harder. Since you seem to already have some sort of trigger system that would work with this (pulling a firing pin), this may be the easiest option. Probably the best all around performance, but the other two options are often easier to attach to a trigger system.

Secret Shot II: The air tank is a bit bigger than the SM1500, but the range also goes up a bit. The trigger is easier to depress (there's a plastic rod sticking out of the back of the tank that you press, not pull, to fire). Without going to a much larger air tank (i.e. Blast Bazooka or Titan), I don't know of any other air tank capable of equal range, except the SM5000, but that's hard to find. The downside to this is that sometimes the tank leaks out the front opening (barrel end) and requires "fast pumping" to get it to hold the seal. Often this can be fixed with Silicon Spray or compressed air, but sometimes it can't.

Big Salvo: Probably the easiest to work with. For a trigger, I recommend a SMDTG system. Depending on how much space you have, you may be able to fit two or even three blast chambers and have an improved ROF. The BS air chamber can be finnicky, but each Big Salvo comes with four air chambers, so you'll probably have back-ups. The range is usually comparable to that of an AT2K, but as there tends to be a lot variation in BS air tanks, I've had some that shoot only 70' and others hit 110' (I've worked with over 50 BS air chambers).

I hope that helped. When working with tight spaces, nothing beats the BS, but the SM1500's are less problematic and SS2's are becoming harder and harder to find.

:( Really? Mine has leaked a total of 4 times. It must be something I'm doing wrong.
Maybe the experience has been made even more hellish by having to rip off all of the glue for my stock just to fix it. Oh well, I value comfort enough to not rip it off.
