hey guys i was just wondering if i modded my nerf airtech 3000 to have only one barrel then would it get the 100ft that the ATK2 gets? just wondering... if no one has an answer then i will have to try it myself i guess. or should i also add a coupler? thanks in advance.

I personally haven't done this because thats the whole thing that separates and AT3k from a 2K. The auto advancing 6 round turret. Theoretically you should get the same ranges seeing as the air tank is the exact same in both guns However, I can't personally vouch for either way. Me personally, I wouldn't do it because that defeats the point of the 3k, but I know people have done it and are happy with it, so by all means GO FOR IT! Then let us know how it went.

They have similar tank sizes, so yes. Add a coupler if you want to be able to load faster.

May I recommend the use of 1/2 in PEX tubing? The 3K's airtank is larger so you get better ranges. If you have any problems PM me.

I just compared the tanks and the 3k is smaller. But almost the same size. I'm pretty sure that there are already write ups on this subject though...

geez youd figure 3k is bigger then 2k but anyways i will still do the mod whenever i get the time probably some time this week and i will tell the ranges.

Just because the tank is bigger doesn't mean it gets better ranges.
The 3k releases more air, slower. So it gets lower ranges. The 2k release a short pop of some air, and very fast.
The titan releases a crapload of air, but slow. A Big blast release a lot of air fastly, and gets great range.

It all depends on the size to release ratio.

My CPVC "revolver mod" (Wrath's mod) gets 70ish feet with 6 inch barrels, but the foam fits nicely.

I believe ya and all keef but I'm pretty darn sure that my titan gets better ranges than my big blast, my big blast gets better ranges than my 2k, but my 2k definitely gets better than my 3k. But I trust your air flow stuff... I think it really depends on how fast you pull the trigger and on some if you do the bic pen mod.

well keef's explaination is within reason. the titan has an extremely large airtank so even though it releases the air slowly, it releases so much that you get better range. EDIT: what is a Bic pen mod on, trigger or firing pin?

How do you know that the 3K has a slower air release than the 2K? The valve opens only as fast as you can pull the trigger and the firing pins have equal pull lengths. There isn't any dead space in either the 2k or 3k airtank so they should have equal air releases.

A bic pen mod is just replacing the spring on the firing pin with a generic pen cap/ body. All it really does is allow you to pull the pin back as soon as you pull the trigger instead of having to wait for the spring to fully compress. If you wanted to, you could cover the space with hot glue.

I put 2 inches of 17/32 brass inside of like 9 inches of medium wall PETG and got crazy ranges with nice accuracy.

xnfx37 could you tell me what those ranges were? and how exactly accurate could you get a water bottle from 50ft away? thats deadly accurate if you could.
