I just picked up my recon the other day. I dont have any other darts besides the streamlines with me, and im assumin like the LS it can only shoot those.

So is it the same way to make the LS shoot any dart. work wit the recon?

It depends on the size of your stefans. My 1/2in. stefans do not work in it. CDTS are different than normal stefans though, read about them here.

Hey lay off him. You don't have to blow up at him, and you could have at least given him some advice. But anyway, my two cents is overwith. You have to modify the clip to shoot standart stefans. CDTD's are with the standart foam that fits in the breech, but it is the head on taggers that makes them jam. Stefans just fall down in the clip and jam, unless you do this mod, so it makes the clip compatible with standart stefans. But, you can't fire stock darts anymore.

I'd like to note for the new guy that A Side Of Nerf's first post was correct, but only in you pull the slide back and then forward and front load the dart. Also, stefans only work if the barrel post is removed.

No, that's the dart tooth. If you look inside something else, say, a Nite Finder or a Maverick, you should see an orange peg about the length of the barrel. It's the thing that fits inside the hole in the back of stock darts. It's harder to see in the Recon but if you pull the slide back about halfway and look in through the clip slot you might see it.

Why do the guns even have the barrel posts? It would be easier if Nerf were to just leave them out. I mean in the older guns the barrel post was there because it was also the way the air pressure was transferred through to the dart, but in the newer ones it's just a nuisance. Does it stabilize the dart or something?

well i've done that already. since i had a drill and a bit where i was at. Im home now. I took a stefan and it fits fine. i think if i take out the tooth you mentioned, i think it would be fine. Maybe just glue it down.


I'm modding the light as i type. I got a no-name pen blaster ss kinda thing. I need to do some dremeling and sanding ill post pics when ever i finish..

Don't mess with the dart tooth, it helps chamber the dart. If you get rid of it, the dart probably won't go into the barrel all the way.

I was messing around with it earlier like holding it down sorta with a screw driver. I really didnt have a problem.
But then again, I wasn't doing it fast. So it would most likly jam up if I was.
