(If you don't feel like reading the actual modding part, just skip to the last paragraph)

Okay, so I was at my friend's house today and we were working on our Nerf Guns in preparation for a 4th of July Nerf Outing (4JNO) and I got out my Titan AS-1, which I'd been holding back on modding and took it outside for some range testing, it got 60ft consistently, which I thought was nice, but I wanted more. So I cut the ARs out (cut 1/2" off the end of the tube and smashed/cut out the one at the base) and I got about 20ft more (moving range up to about 80ft and making the gun MUCH louder to fire)

After I did that, I pumped it up until the OP valve kicked in and I got annoyed with it (about 90ft when tested.) I got back to the place in her house where we were doing the modding and opened up the Titan (broke the ring at the back of it instead of cutting/removing it) and got inside. I did the usual internal mods (plugged the pump, pulled the angle restrictors, pulled the front trigger)

I tested it again and went back outside to test it after a little fooling around inside (noticed I was compressing enough air to squeeze the moisture out of it) and I fired it. It flew about 110ft with 30 pumps and 115ft with 40 pumps. I did a little messing around and decided I was happy with it.

I got it home and I wondered about the new stresses I'd induced into into it via the plugged pump. Should I be worried about the internal seals popping, vinyl tubes bursting, or the tank going belly up on me?

Mod Summary:
ARs removed
Pump Plugged
Angle Restrictors removed
Front trigger and much of the Hornet AS-6
assembly removed
Silicone Lubed the Pump

No, many people including myself plug the gun and destroy the ars. You are fine, however I normally pump it to a max of 35 for safety's sake.

Hold on.

Is this with the Rocket? Or did you convert it to fire Micros?

I get all giddy when I see VACC browsing a stupid topic. I just know someone is going to get banned.

+10 pumps gives five feet of range.

I can only assume that that's the rocket

The shots were taken with the rockets, probably 5* of angle (it's nearly impossible to hold a gun level without putting a level on it)

Its kind of hard to believe 100+ ranges with that huge, heavy, rocket.

it is possible. We tested it against my longshot, which gets about 130ft with stock darts, and it was short of the longshot by about 20ft.

Im going to test mine tomorrow then... I cant believe 110'. My homemade which is double the size od the titans air tank if not larger gets that sort of range. Maybe I should see what psi I'm using.

feel free, this is totally legit. If we ever meet in a nerf war, I'll happily show it off. My friend has a digital video cam, as soon as he can pry it away from his grandmother, I can start shooting vids of this stuff and putting it up on youtube.
