Okay, so I was at my friend's house today and we were working on our Nerf Guns in preparation for a 4th of July Nerf Outing (4JNO) and I got out my Titan AS-1, which I'd been holding back on modding and took it outside for some range testing, it got 60ft consistently, which I thought was nice, but I wanted more. So I cut the ARs out (cut 1/2" off the end of the tube and smashed/cut out the one at the base) and I got about 20ft more (moving range up to about 80ft and making the gun MUCH louder to fire)
After I did that, I pumped it up until the OP valve kicked in and I got annoyed with it (about 90ft when tested.) I got back to the place in her house where we were doing the modding and opened up the Titan (broke the ring at the back of it instead of cutting/removing it) and got inside. I did the usual internal mods (plugged the pump, pulled the angle restrictors, pulled the front trigger)
I tested it again and went back outside to test it after a little fooling around inside (noticed I was compressing enough air to squeeze the moisture out of it) and I fired it. It flew about 110ft with 30 pumps and 115ft with 40 pumps. I did a little messing around and decided I was happy with it.
I got it home and I wondered about the new stresses I'd induced into into it via the plugged pump. Should I be worried about the internal seals popping, vinyl tubes bursting, or the tank going belly up on me?
Mod Summary:
ARs removed
Pump Plugged
Angle Restrictors removed
Front trigger and much of the Hornet AS-6
assembly removed
Silicone Lubed the Pump
