This is a write up on the nerf nite finder to make it have a manual revolving turret.

Stuff needed for mod:
Screwdriver
Hacksaw
1/2 cpvc
1/2 pvc
15/32 brass
dremel
pipe cutters
a 3k turret
a thick straw.

First unscrew the gun and take out the plunger assembly, you can throw away the barrel assembly.
Posted Image
Sand out the inside.
Posted Image
hammer a peice of cpvc into an inch of pvc, then glue that into the orange ring at the front of the plunger.
Posted Image
Cut the cpvc at about a half of an inch away from the pvc.
Posted Image
glue 15/32 brass into the cpvc so it comes out about a half of an inch.
Posted Image
Glue that whole assembly into the plunger tube.
Posted Image
put that in the ppk'd nf then close her up. it should look like this
Posted Image
then sand out the back of the 3k's turret so the 15/32 fits nicely in it, but can still be pulled out
Posted Image
Then find a hard straw that fits nicely over the metal rod that comes out of the back of the turret.
Posted Image
glue it here.
Posted Image
Now you are done, put the metal rod in the straw. and your good to go. mine looks like this.

Very interesting but is there anything holding the turret on the nitefinder other than the straw? If not you could have the metal rod come out the back of the straw and put some hot glue or e-tape on it so it can't come out and fall off but you can still move the turret. Hope that was clear, if not I can draw a pic.

I know what you mean. I cut the straw as long as the rod for the most possible stability. The straw has a good tight fit on the rod so it doesnt come out much unless i pull it out intentionally.

Good to know. But other poeple who can't find that same kind of straw could do that.

No problem. This would be even better if you had a double nf to do this to and if you replaced thee spring and gave it a sweet paint job.

After seing this, I am starting to wonder if you could do this with a DTB turret. If you gave the nitefinder a stock it would look somewhat like a minigun.

Really, how is that holding up? Also what are the ranges.

I have cushion on the plunger and used epoxy putty to reinforce the plunger tube.
I really have no idea what the ranges are because i do not have a big tape measurer sp? but from 60 feet away from a fence im hitting it around the waist level. so probably around the low 60's.

First blood: I took apart the plunger rod from the plunger and put the spring in.

A side of nerf: for that all you would have to do is put a cpvc coupler on the nf and stick the turret in.

Would this work without the black part on the bottom of the orange part. I left the black part in the gun and did a barrel replacement, so now I just have the orange part. I am starting to seriously considering doing this. Thanks for the idea.

Yes just use the orange part without the air restrictors.

I tried doing something very similar with a NF and a turret from a Tommy 20. Although it was very cool, it only had about a 20 foot range. How were you able to make the seal in between the turret and the barrel tight enough to get 60 and still have it able to rotate?

I added some etape to the base of brass to create a seal. You can see it in one of my pics.

I commend your skills dude, seems like what my friend did, but he just used the 3k turret to hold ammo. Very good deal, makes the NF just that much more useful. I like it!
