Yeah, I spent a lot of time in marching band...I played trumpet in high school, and tuba in a community marching band. I played a little baritone in college as well as trumpet, but after that, didn't do very much as far as organized music for a long time...until a few years ago. Nothing marching or orchestral, just smaller bands, and writing my own music as well.

My main instruments as of late have been bass (both electric and upright), pennywhistle and folk flute....although I've taken a real liking to the mandolin.

I just bought a uber cheap mandolin not too long ago. They are quite fun to play and not too hard either.

I played in the marching band and jazz band for 4 years at my high school (graduated last spring). Lead trumpet for the last one (took those idiots WAAAYY too long to graduate...lol)

Apollo (posted above) were in it together, and about 1/2 of my clan was or still is in the band.

I'll second that... I'm still in it.

I'm currently the High Brass Co-section leader (trumpets and horns) and first chair horn player in the Marching Band and Wind Ensemble.
