I had this idea the other day for something to add to the personal profiles we all have here at Haven. If there was a section where we could upload pictures of our weapons and etc. with small bio's on each, we could all see who works with what. The newbies could easily see whats out there weapons wise without having to search real deep. This could be helpful for everyone!

I don't know who specifically to talk to about possibly getting this added to NH, so I thought I'd post my thoughts here and see who is for my idea.

It serves the same purpose, and no it wasn't sarcasm in keef's post. More like contempt for ignorance. Since there is already a communal thread where everyone posts their mods, paintjobs, and homemades (although the latter has its own thread), there is no need to be redundant and have the same thing on peoples' profiles. I don't know if IPB even supports something like that.

I see what you mean. You want a section, in addition to our contact information and quote, on the profile to show off our equipment. Am I right?

The only problem I see with this is some people will add too much, making it a problem for load times. Think of it as if you just turned your profile into a MySpace page. Ever clock how long it takes to load some of them that are full of alot of shit? Others may put completely non-nerf related items in that section, wasting its usefulness. Also, it means that the admins will have to check out every members profile every so often to ensure that the sections are being used properly.

There are also threads that accomplish this task already. Here is one of them.

How Many Guns Do You Have In Your Arsenal?

This thread is there for the newer members to show off to everyone their arsenals. They can always put a linkto the specific post in that thread in their signature space. The link that keef provided is also a good example. If someone came up with a mod that is featured there, users can see who created it by clicking on it.

There are plenty of ways for users to show off their arsenals, but I don't really think another section in the profile is the way to go. They can even just post links to their personal mods in the signature section.

Yeah, that's great and all, but my idea was to collect all the scattered mods and paint jobs of each user and allow them to post it on there personal pages. I know there is something "sort of" like that, but my idea is based on a different concept. I'm offering the idea, merely as an option of something we COULD have. I don't want people to treat me like a newb and say "well here's what we do have, live with it". It's an idea

I understand the concept and what you're trying to do, but IPB may not even have that kind of function to support that data and that much of it on the profile pages. Like badger said, it would take an eternity to load otherwise. It's something of a technical limitation on IPB as to whether or not we could add something like what you're suggesting.

I understand that, I know how to make websites (barely) I'm just saying if we had the ability, that option would be pretty cool, I think.

There, if they had a gun, and posted a topic about it, you'ld see what they had done.

No, it wouldn't. You can put links to pictures of all your shit in your signature if you really feel the need to show it off to people.
