Okay, so I was doing some range testing with my LS yesterday (wednesday 6/18/08) and when I dry-fired it after pulling the empty clip, I heard a really loud bang and snap inside the gun. Normally it's just a loud pop followed by the springs ringing. Anyway, I was a little worried about it, but I set the gun down and measured off my darts (pretty decent ranges.)
I got back inside and pulled my gun apart because I was worried about it, and to my horror, pieces of the plunger tube, the LS spring, the BBB spring, and pieces of the plunger rod went flying in all directions when I pulled the top half of the shell off. I gathered up everything and it's now sitting on my work table. I checked inside of the shell and there's a lot of damage to the shell as well.
I know this sounds like a really stupid question, but is this fixable, or will I have to buy a new LS?

From the sounds of it you've done so much structural damage that repair isn't worth it. Anything is fixable, but it'd cost you more money than a new LS. I say, get a new one and scrap out the old one, use the clips and springs and stuff.

I dunno. I mean, it sound like all that really broke was the pressure chamber and plunger rod. Anybody who's been Nerfing for more than 3 months has built one or both of those before. I'd wager an LS's pressure chamber is about 1u1/4" Thinwall PVC, and you can use anything for the plunger rod, but I'd keep the catch because that looks like a pain to rebuild without the right tools.
The springs could be bought off someone here for a few bucks if you don't have any more that would work.
So, all in all, I'd guess $15 and a couple hours at the most. *shrug.*

I think making a new plunger tube that would work with the LS cocking system would be hard. I would reccomend scraping it, and using the clips with a new LS like banshee said.
It's just screaming to be rearloading...
I seen a movie about that once.

The ID of the LS PC is Slightly larger (millimeters) than the ID of 1.25" PVC. But since the stock plunger chamber is thinner, 1.25" PVC probabally won't fit. I'd try thinwall 1" and a new plunger head.

Holy shit!
The BBB spring gives you amazing freakin ranges, In know. But after 2 weeks of abuse, my bolt broke twice, and the dart tooth bent all messed up. I recommend a AR15 spring (like CS's setup). Easier to cock than the BBB spring, and less harmfull.
Do you need a new plunger and everything? I have extra. Or, I'll buy the broken LS (read da sig).

How badly damaged are the catch face and bolt rails? If both are still intact, then you could try to rebuild the entire plunger assembly with PVC (as it sounds like both the chamber and the plunger will need replacing) like Flaming Hilt suggested.

Thanks for the outpouring of support, guys. I broke down and bought a new LS instead. I was able to fix the case. I'm going to keep the BBB spring, but I'm going to reinforce the living HELL out of the gun's internals. I will post pics after I do that.
keef, a pretty good sized piece of the internals is gone. I found that while I was repairing the case so I could reuse it (because my paintjob kicks so much ass) the rear portion of the boltsled (the part behind the cocking handle) was SPLIT down the middle in addition to being snapped in the front from the springs hitting it. I feel a little crestfallen because of the loss of the weapon I put the most time into, but I know that I can get everything working again ^^
Thanks again everyone ^^
