So I just modded my wonderful Big Blast with a barrel replacement(CPVC) and plugged the OPV valve. Anyways, I was so excited to close it up and give it a try. Was I disappointed. Here were my ranges with 15 pumps using stock micro darts

Dart 1: 70 ft
Dart 2: 75 ft
Dart 3: 72 ft

I've seen other people get 120-140 ft. What did I do wrong?
(Note: There was no wind and I measured by my pace) :D

Any help is gladly appreciated. Thanks!

I just looked at the mods and saw that they used pvc so the dart can travel through the tube and maximize the distance using all of the available air pressure. When you use cpvc the dart is right on the end and it only gets a burst of air and not the whole tank. Hope this helps.

Your barrel could be to long if you are only using stock micros I wouldnt have a barrel any bigger then 5 inches if I were you. Then again try using stefans for better ranges.

All I can think of is that there is something wrong with the barrels. How long are they and is the dart a tight, loose, or perfect fit?

I would highly reccomend unplugging the pump. And you only need 9 or 10 pumps. If you are using CPVC, and stock darts, I would say your barrel is too long. I had about an 8 or 9 inch barrel on there and I was getting very great results, at 10 pumps, pump unplugged. You might also have an air leak.

It's not like that. I put lube on it and its the same. Its just stuck. And when I cock it back it goes farther back then usual. Also I push as hard as I can and it wont go back in. I've tried the methods and they wont work. Also pics are up.

You have to either use stefans or use a PVC barrel with CPVC nested in it.

This is it. Use 1/2" PVC if you're firing stock darts, the cpvc won't optimize the power.

So you used stock micro darts? So do you mean the suction cup kind? Because that could be your problem right there. Those darts suck. Barrel length, as the others said, is also a factor.

Everyone. I got to go to Menards yesterday and picked up 1/2" PVC. I cut a 14 in. piece and I am good to go. But when I put the dart (micro dart(the suction cup dart) ) in the PVC, it slides all the way down in the barrel. Is it supposed to do this?

Yes it is. The point of a longer barrel is so the dart can be stabilized before leaveing the barrel.

Please let us know how this goes. I am planning on trying long pvc barrels and stock darts myself.

Ugh, I am disgusted at the lack of understanding in this thread. The point of a longer barrel is to utilize all the air coming out of the air tank. And for that to happen, a dart needs to be in the back of the barrel so the air can push the dart for a longer period of time.

And my results with stock darts in a long PVC barrel on a Big Blast are good.

Same with my ranges, they are very nice.

Dart 1: 130 ft
Dart 2: 125 ft
Dart 3: 126 ft

It is also so loud when I pull the trigger which is awesome.

To sum it all up:
14 in piece of pvc + big blast + stock micro dart= awesome :(
