Is there a commonly used barrel material that provides a tight fit for micro stefans? I know that standard/big stefans fit 5/8 pvc perfectly. Is there an equivelent of this for the micro stefans?

Show me a standard micro stefan and I'll find the perfect barrel for it!
Micro stefans, made with FBR that's nominally 1/2", actually vary in diameter from approximately 3/8" to 9/16". This makes it real hard to delegate one material as The Barrel.
Here in SoCal, a bunch of us use foam I got from loghelp.com that's real close to 1/2". We use either 9/16" brass or PETG for a good fit. People elsewhere have found CPVC to work quite well with their slightly thinner FBR.
Short answer? Buy a buttload of FBR. Enough to last you your whole nerfing career twice over. Take a piece to a hardware store and a hobby shop and see what fits it.
