I had an Arrowstorm for years. It was my favorite gun untill micros came into play, and I sold it, quit nerf came back later and here I am. ANYWAY. I'm getting my hands on one and want to create the best possible barrel assembly for my needs. Firstly, the Arrowstorms rotation mechanism cannot take much more weight than it allready has. That rules out just sticking anything down the origional barrels. I know that I WILL have to cut the stock barrels down to about an inch and a half, maybe 2" to have something to work with and maintain barrel stability. Then there is WHICH MATERIAL TO USE. PETG is nice and light, and is a little tighter fitting than normal brass, but im not sure. I know that a NORMAL brass barrel would most likely be too spacious to be efficient in this heavy dutey spring gun. Nested barrels would work, but would require twisting to get the darts in. This would mean reloading would be a PAIN, and i dont want to risk the ROF over that. Kevin suggested that I maybe have, lets say, 4" of the smaller sized brass with 5" of the normal sized brass over it, So you can still twist it mostely in and still have some extra length for distance and accuracy. I sortoff tried this out on my BBB for spring gun testing purposes, and the dart still only twists in as far as your fingers can twist. Well, theres my delema, Ide like to have a decent barrel length, maybe 5-6" so the gun can have decent accuracy. I dont want the dart RIGHT at the tip of the barrel, but i may not have a choice.

What would all of YOU do if YOU were trying to make an Arrowstorm shoot Micro-Stefans as efficiently as possibly while maintaining RoF and accuracy? Input Needed!

P.S. turns out I can indeed cram a micro striaght with my finger an inch down normal brass into the smaller sized brass... but would having 4" of smaller brass and only one inch of normal create too much pressure on the dart/gun?

I would cpvc it, and use a ramrod, despite what peole think, a ramrod really isnt that much of a hassle, In my last war, I managed to pull out 9-3 within a few matches with a ramrod sigle-shot gun, and here your are with a 6 shot gun...I cant help you if your the kind of person where one aimed shot to the chest isnt enough, you dont aim and you just fling your gun infront of you, aim it in there general directin, and start shooting. But if your smart, just use a ramod with cpvc.

I actually suggested you have half an inch of 17/32" brass at the base of a 5" 9/16" brass barrel. One inch might be better though.

--*re-reads your message* you sure did lol that was my bad. Tired eyes don'tcha know! I'm sure that would be millions times better hahaha. I'll probably do one inch of 17/32 at the bottom of 5" of 9/16th epoxied into the origional barrel studs. My bet is that it would probably be superior to just PETG no? Plus more sturdy!

lol so if i dont im an idiot?

---btw could =J= post what he did, along with his results as far as range and accuracy go?

No, its just a simple solution that works as well as any other barrel Agen, depending on your darts.

Yeah I've toyed with this idea for a long time. If you could get an arrow storm to shoot micros a good 80' feet and with it's rof...you'd have pretty much the perfect weapon. My arrowstorm is fucked up, I don't know what's wrong with it though. If you get this mod to work, make sure you get back to us with detailed results, because I'd like to do this too.

I'ma talk to this "J" guy, then make my decision, but im pretty sure im going to with an inch of 17/32 brass inside 5" of 9/16th. Only thing is, the darts are 2" long, and I can push a dart about an inch down just with my finger, so the dart goes from being 2 inches in, to 3 inches in, not making it to the 17/32 brass at all. The easy solution to this obviously is a pen to just crap it down, which really makes it not much of an issue at all. I'll attempt a few diff mods in the next 2 weeks and post results... even though I have 2 darts...

So evidently, Arrowstorms modded with 6.5" of 9/16/ brass gets around 70 feet, and Arrowstorms modded with 7 " of PETG get around 70 feet. I'm going to make a couple nested barrels with one inch of 17/32 in 9/16th of varying lengths, and if i cant top 70 feet, ill just use normal brass or PETG. Technically, nested SHOULD prove to be the better mod, but we'll see... I may go buy a spring that a TAD thicker for it <_< maybe re-enforce the casing to it can handle a bigger spring...

Given that the rotation mechanism can handle the weight, I guarantee that brass will be superior to PETG with the darts most of us use in SoCal.

I cannot wait to see the results. This might inspire me to fix and mod mine, it was always such a perfect and overall best gun for most situations. And those curves...oh god how she killed me with those curves...

Since I'm going to need the one inch of 17/32 brass to be solid inside the 9/16th when I epoxy them into the Astorms barrel stubs, I'm figuring I'm probably going to end up putting a very thin layer of epoxy on the 17/32 and hopefully slide it into place in the 9/16th... but... since they are allready perfectly airtight, I'm not even so sure that it will slide in with anything on it like glue or epoxy... I gues I'll find out... does anyone have a better idea as to how to keep the 17/32 peice inside the larger 9/16th peice? Maybe welding?

Go ahead and wrap some kind of tape around the 17/32", and leave it there for awhile. Take it off, and the remaining adhesive should make it so you have to ram the 17/32" into the back of the 9/16". Chances are, you aren't going to be bothering the 17/32" too much, and this makes it airtight and in there strong. Just don't expect to get it out again.
