Yesterday I got a Ruff Stuff Double Shot.
Posted Image
I loaded it up, fired it, and almost broke down and cried...
Some of the time it didn't fire, sometimes it only fired out of one barrel, and sometimes it fired, but the shot never left the barrel. When the dart(s) did leave the barrel, they went no more than 15 feet.
Can you tell me what's wrong with it, whether or not it's defective, or if it's just a cruddy gun?
I noticed that it had a better success rate with tagger darts than with the ones it came with, if that changes anything.
Please help....
I'm sad.

It's not like that. I put lube on it and its the same. Its just stuck. And when I cock it back it goes farther back then usual. Also I push as hard as I can and it wont go back in. I've tried the methods and they wont work. Also pics are up.

I always got at least 20 with it stock and never had misfires... That has to be a lemon. Id take it back to the store and get a new one... or get a better nerf gun.

If you don't want to get a new one, you could do this mod. Even thogh yours is crappy, you might be able to get some better ranges.

I had this problem when I got mine, almost to the letter. I went in and shortened the cord that is used to cock the gun (when you pull the front part down it pulls on a cord which pulls the plungers back through a series of wheels). This, for some reason, fixed my problem. I also removed the ARs from the shells, I don't think that had much to do with it though.

Try shortening the cord by about a half inch, see if that helps.

How would you connect it all back together? Just tying it?

I know the topic about that write-up is old, so I'm going to ask you here instead of in that topic:
1. why cpvc inside the pvc? doesn't 1/2 inch pvc work perfectly with stock darts?
2. why are the front of the barrels on the top? If they were there, why wouldn't they make it more accurate?

Wait! It's not broken. Mine didn't work at first either, but it's an issue with the darts. You can't simply jam it in, you gotta twist it around too, until it loosens up.

On a serious note, that will loosen the grip that the barrel post has on the dart. Rotating the dart will enlarge the hole in the back of it, so it's not as tight and it will shoot farther.

Or you could just take some plyers and twist the barrel posts untill they come off.
I have a mod on here

It works for me.

Don't mod it. Take it back. I have had two DS and none of them misfired, even stock. Also unless you cut down the blue barrels and mod the shells the DS range does suck pretty bad.

I had this problem also. The thing is that the pole that is suppose to keep the dart in is to wide thus too much friction. to fix this just take some pliers and rip the pole out. For even more ranges take a drill-bit that is a smaller size than the shell's hole and drill through the air restricter.

Why don't you have a go at making my Homemade Shells. They are simple to make and improve the guns ranges by up to 20ft. Check it out:

I'm trying hard not to Sig' that...

On topic: I'm sure all stock DS suck. Mine did, but I made home made shells and cut down the barrels (as suggested) and now gets ranges of 40-45 ft. Try that, and good luck!
Gone 8th, 9th, and 10th. Any PMs about DT3 Arrow Shooter Spring I recieve while away will be dealt with when I get back.

Don't dis buzzbee. The Big Blast owns all. But the DS is like it's wannabe little cousin who does nothing but piss the hell out of it. I would'nt expect much out of it either.

Don't want to shove balls in tight spaces. Trust me, bad idea.

For sale: Vintage WWII French rifles. Dropped once, never fired.

You just cut off the end and then tie it back together as it was.

I did the mod that Silencer suggested, and now I got a pretty good seal.
It still won't work.

I still strongly suggest shortening the cord. When mine was doing this, it turned out that for whatever reason the cord was too long so it wasn't pulling the plungers back all the way during cocking. By shortening the cord you take out the slack and it cocks all the way.

It might be a different issue altogether, but I'd say it's worth a try, right? Either way, it makes it easier to prime the gun.
