Just as the title states. I've started editing movies for my Counter-Strike 1.6 clan TRYstate. I have been able to do the basics with Windows Movie Maker but I am interested in adding more complex effects such as greyscale a whole scene but a certain person etc. Thanks in advance!

There really are no free ones out there that can do complicated effects.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

Everything you have seen done in my videos was with Ulead.
Don't really know if that helps I just thought I would throw it out there.

I don't get my kicks out of you,
I don't feel the way I used to do.
I know its bad,
After what we had,
But I’m just not the angel you knew.

I tried to use Ulead, it came with my camera. I don't remember what version it was, but believe me, it sucked balls. I couldn't figure out how to separate and cut clips, because the button was grayed out all the time, no matter what I did. I tried using windows movie maker, and it was 10 times easier and much more self-explanatory. I can't believe that the fancier program sucked so badly, when the free program was so easy to use. I have a new program now though, so I never have to deal with Ulead again. I have Power Director, by the way.
I don't care what anyone else says, Atom Blasters are fucking awesome.

My friend uses Adobe Aftereffects when he edits the movies we make, but I'm not sure how he got it. I'm pretty sure he didn't have to pay, maybe something to do with a school or his mom.
Alice came to the fork in the road.
"Which road do I take?" she asked.
"Where do you want to go?" responded the Cheshire cat.
"I don't know," Alice answered.
"Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter."

Download the free trial of Sony Vegas. It's a kick ass program and the trial is full-function for 30 days (last time I checked)
Captain - In general more advanced programs are more difficult to use, since they have so much more functionality. If you only are doing simple stuff the cheaper programs are quicker to learn to do what you want. I would definitely consider Vegas to be an advanced program.
