I'm still having trouble with my Big Salvo. Everything seems to be working fine, but it's really...underpowered. I'll pump it 30 times and it'll go 20 ft. max. I really want to know how people can get 90+ ft. squeezed out of this interesting gun, especially with 10 pumps. I've noticed two different color schemes for the BS...is there some difference internal-wise between the two? Anyone have a solution for why this thing is sucking so much? I'd really love to make this thing my primary, but it's a pain in the ass.

I don't really undestand why General Cole is making articles of clothing with my name on it. First it frightened me, but after a few hours I got over it. It seems obvious that General Cole is hoping to have sex with me.

Have your replaced the barrels? Because depending how you held the gun to saw off the air restrictors, you may have ruptured the values. And people get 90ft plus out of this gun by plugging the pump.

You don't need to plug the pump to get those kind of ranges. The BS should be obscenely powerful without it. Apparently AODL's is not. So it goes.

I don't know what the problem might be. Perhaps just a defective model.

oops. Sorry. I meant off 10 pumps, thats how you get 100ft or so. By plugging it.
About 20-30 pumps without plugging will get you that range.

Yeah, with CPVC. How should I hold this thing so the valves won't crap out?

I've got the same problem. I plugged the pump and tested it with a 10" x 9/16" brass barrel on all the tanks and none of them could shoot past 30 ft.

How is your barrel/dart fit? Extremely loose? Loose? Quasi-loose? Air guns are supposed to be loose, but not too loose. 9/16 in my AT3k results in shit-poor ranges for an AT3k; 17/32 gets me the ranges that are usually reported.

My darts move slowly down 9/16" when held verticaly. I've gotten great results with 9/16" on my Big Blast and my two AT2K, so I don't think the barrels are the problem. After pumping the thing 15 times, I put my hand in front of the tanks and fired; hardly any air comes out of them. Defective I guess?

Or there's a leak at the trigger. The O-Ring around the trigger might've dried out or something else, I suggest you check it.

I use CPVC, and the dart fit is kinda tight. I know air gun seals are supposed to be loose, but everyone I see used CPVC, and they got great ranges. So, I assumed this was the only way it was done. Are your darts loose in 17/32 brass? My darts are tight in 17/32.

Barrel material isn't your problem. Big Salvos are EXTREMELY powerful and will blast anything with great force no matter what barrel material.

Big Salvos are extremely finnicky. I've owned over twenty of them and some of them are amazing and some of them just flat out suck. For the most part, they are great when in new condition, but the performance can easily deteriorate. The blast chamber valves will last longer if you don't plug the pump (ranges are still great without plugging the pump...assuming the gun is in average to good condition). Sounds like you got a lemon...too bad. Try integrating, as sometimes the problem isn't the blast chambers, but the trigger system.

Do you feel resistance increase as you pump it? If not, you don't have a good seal (usually on the trigger mech). The e-tape raised o-ring mod is an option, but results vary.

Is there a loud pop sound when you pull the trigger? If not, it's a bad blast chamber or bad trigger valve, neither of which you can do much about except replace. If you want to find out if it's the blast chamber or the trigger valve, swap around the blast chambers to different positions to see if performance improves. If it does, then you know it's a trigger valve, if it doesn't, the blast chamber sucks and you need a new one.
