First off, I know there was already a topic about this. It didn't help me.
So I semi-recently got a Splitfire from Zaxbys(thanks, by the way) and took it out of the box and pumped. After a few pumps the OPRV kicked in. It sounded like a small "pop." So I plugged the OPRV. It was ok, I pumped it 10 times, shot, and it sounded louder. However, when I pumped, there was a slight problem. There was a "sssss" on the first pump, in the right valve, but then it sort of "sealed" up on the second pump, so it was no big problem so long as I pumped fast. So, I have it now, and what's going on is I pump it 10-11 times, pull the trigger fast, and there is a satisfying "BANG." But when I pull the trigger slowly, to have semi-auto fire, it goes "bang-BANG." The first shot is quieter. How much varies, from almost exactly the same to a tiny "bam" followed by a "BANG." I'm pumping it just as fast each time, and cannot range test(I hacksawed off the barrels to do a barrel replacment, but have not been able to get a suiting barrel material yet.) I do not have much experience with this blaster, so I am asking all of you, judging from my description, do I have a leak? Is everything in check? Is this just normal, or is something wrong?

Thank ya.

So you've been dry firing a gun to see if it works?

When was this ever a smart idea? test with darts.

Read before you comment. I don't have mega darts, I hacksawed off the barrels, and for personal reasons I am not able to obtain brass/PETG/other suiting barrel material yet.

Dry firing isn't bad if the gun is an air gun.

The reason that on the first pump air leaks out is...

You must pump a Splitfire quickly for the following reason:
When you begin pumping the SF, the rubber grommit is NOT covering up the hole where the air enters the barrel when it fires. The air you pump into the tanks goes through the check valve at the back of the pump, and comes out of the orange plastic pipes running through the airtanks. This air coming out pushes the rubber on the red pipe away from the orange pipe, and causes the rubber to hit the open hole leading to the barrels. The higher pressure inside the airtanks keeps the rubber piece held against the opening going to the barrels.

I guess you have some heavy duty industrial strength toilet paper holders. Do they advise you to wear eye protection when changing rolls?

My TTG mod.

Thank you hierarchy. I'm glad to at least find out that it's normal for there to be air leaking on the first pump, I didn't want to think Zaxbys had cheated me, or that I had wasted $60. However, it's only leaking on one barrel/valve, is that normal?

Oh ok, I forgot about time lines there and how the splitfire uses megas so I thought it was a dart problem and reckoned some range testing before.

Sorry my kind sir, it was an honest mistake

What the problem is is that you're pumping it too much. 6 pumps is enough, and any more does... bad things. That's why happened to mine, and I can't fix it now, but It hasen't gotten worse if I pump it 6-8 times max.

Yeah, it got weaker when I pumped more than 11 times. I just tried pumping it 8 times, and it was possibly the strongest it has ever shot! Thanks, OfAll'!
